Went to the pins to work on a new route. Forgot the bolt hangers so then it was just climbin. then realized there were not any climbin shoes in my pack. Had cookies then hiked around. Ended up finding a real nice unclimbed face in a fabulous little setting. WhoooHooo good times.
-
Oh yeah went diving on Sunday. forgot the cooler so I was not able to spear anything.

Sorry, I climbed that face last week.
-
dontcha hate it when that happens
heh

Ouch...I feel for you big time. Look on the bright side though, at least the brew pub is still open. Oh wait...no it isn't. DAMN IT.
Who's hungry for Hollister Sushi though...yum!

What's wrong with climbing in something other than climbing shoes? Unless he forgot his rack and rope also...probably didn't even go to the Pinns.
-
You climbing snob. Pffffft. What's wrong with doing something other than climbing in the Pinns?
But of course he could have forgotten his rack and/or rope, just like he forgets where his keys are EVERY TIME he is about to leave the house.
-
He loses his keys too? I am glad I am not the only one.
-
It only took my two days to find them this time.
-
Losing his keys is nothing. How about losing his cell phone for a week, only to find out it's in Munge's truck. All week long, Munge is saying "what's that beeping sound?"
Saturday worked perfectly, by the time he realized what he'd forgotten my bro and I had done 4x climbs. I managed to extend my right arm another inch by doing the 1st part of the Big Pucker crux 2x.
Plus it was trying to rain on us. At least I had the good fortune that it was sunny everytime I lead. My brother on the other hand had the mis-forture of it starting to rain every time he followed.
-
i ran 12 miles and might have fuckered my knee.

*sigh* If I had known earlier...

Welcome to the bad knee club, aka biking (or treadmill) club.
-
Cock, did the knee start hurting during or after the run? What are you taking for it? Icing and Ibuprofin are the best things for it.
Also where are you doing your milage? Street or Trail? The trail is much easier on the knees.
Running injuries suck. I have a achillies / heel issue that makes running very painful. I still need to get seen.
-
Factor4, I can perhaps vouch for all when I say that we've all perhaps seen as much as we care to;-)
-
knees started hurting around mile 9.5. i slowed and ran to 10.5, then stopped and walked to 11. ran from 11 to 12 and there was no longer any pain at all.
iced and ib.
did a slow 4 miler last night and felt ok, but the right knee feels suspect today. feels a little like infapatellar tendonitis (sp).
ran the 12 on asphalt getting familar with the HM course.

Squiddo, you've come out of the closet.
Quite that cross training stuff and just climb at the Pinns.
Remember, if you bike too much your legs will get too heavy and you'll never redpoint those 5.9s.
-
If you run on the road get the best running shoes possible. They quite often run about $100 - $150 but they are worth it.

Good point. I think from now on, I'll ask Mr Mud to carry all my stuff for me so that my legs can be as light as feather. I can then work on redpointing those glorious 5.9s. Dang, why didn't I think of this earlier?

LOL! Too true. I used to bike a lot. Years ago I took the train to Canada and rode from BC to Atascadero, including Santa Cruz to Atascadero in one day. Never was able to climb very well after that.(Really wasn't able to climb that well before that either, but at least I have an excuse now.)
-
mudworm you are already as light as a feather.
Besides Peter Croft has big legs.

Not really, these were taken when we were bouldering at the Happy's with John Gill a couple of years ago.
Muscular, yes.

I was there one weekend when those two were there and someone was taking pictures. Not many people around with bigger legs. They may not be Olympic bicyclist big but they are run up a couple of mountains with a pac big.

You have a point. I guess you win.
I just checked the date, these were taken in October of 2002. As far as I know, that was the only time they bouldered together at the Happys. Were you the group of guys on the Serengeti or in that general area?
-
I hate that when it lets you post as a guest...I thought I was logged in when I made that post.
-
There was us and one other party there. It was the first and only time I have boldered there. So I do not know what is what. We started off down there on the flats and then up on the side of a hill. I wondered down the valley for a bit. I think that I would prefer to climb up on Wheelers Crest.
-
I was back briefly once. The place is an absolute choss pile in my opinion. John liked it becasue there were traverses low to the ground with juggy holds. I think it is a pile of crap and don't understand why it is so popular. My favorite in the area are the Rock Creek Boulders.

Ha! Unless you weigh what I do and the holds break off. :)

heh, creatively hardening the next generation of climbers.
I do what I can to contribute to those that follow.
hahahaha
