Title: Look, What Erik Got me for Birthday!
Post by: mudworm on June 28, 2009, 11:11:50 AM

In two months, we'll probably be on our way up to Whistler again, and this time, I want to be better prepared. I must have thought to myself out loud because Erik started building these structures in our backyard and put them together on my birthday. They are all fun little challenges, some harder than the others. Also, there are so many ways to tackle almost every structure, you go one way and then turning around and going the other way is a whole new experience. He'll be out of town for three weeks. Well, I know something will keep me occupied.

This is awesome....I suck at this stuff and could use the practice. What time should I be there and what kind of beer should I bring:-)

Squiddo, you are back from your "trip"?

I don't see the track going over the Trooper on blocks.

That explains what eric was doing with the pallets. I thought it was odd since he didn't have a fireplace and it's summer (at least here in sunnyvale).

We will do a back yard session when i am back.  Just wait.  I am not done yet.  One thing has changed, I notice pallets laying around every where I go.  Like little nuggets of gold.  Driving down the street is a new experience.

Pallets are like gold.

1. you can make furniture out of them, like my grandfather does well into your 80s. the top cross pieces need to be strong so are made from oak or stronger wood than the pine 2x that run the length of the pallet.
2. they make for great fires if you run out of wood in Josh, but you compete for them because they have a return value.
3. they have a return value for cash
