So Cole is arriving on Saturday for two weeks. Last week, I tried to get him signed up for the climbing camp next week at PG so he had something to do while I was at work (my mom will also be here so she was going to shuttle him). I find out that they had a low turnout for next week, so they combined the two classes (little kids & older kids) but still only had 5 kids total. When I asked the guy at the desk if he could sign up Cole, he said it shouldn't be a problem, but he wasn't sure because the rest of the "open slots" had been crossed out. He said I would need to speak with the person who ran the program. I left all my contact info and he said that she would call me back. She never did. So I called the next day. She wasn't in, but left my contact info again ("I'm sure she'll call you tomorrow"). Never did...called again...lather...rinse...repeat. Finally got a hold of her today to tell me that she wouldn't add Cole b/c they only had 1 instructor and that they keep to a 5:1 kid to instructor ratio. I asked, no exceptions in this case since they combined the classes and b/c Cole knows how tie his own knot (and b/c I've been a freaking member for years). Nope. No exceptions. LAME!!!!!!!!!!
Granted, I was a little late in making my request, but jeezus...won't let one kid who knows what he's doing into the class???? They suck!!!!

Yeah, what about Belmont? I went there at lunch time. There were at least 30 kids around. As soon as my CR-V is back, I'm back to morning climbing schedule.

Yah, check out Belmont. You could also talk with what's her name the GM to se what the deal is.
Or just turn him loose. I'd give you a couple day passes.

That sucks, they really should have at least called back promptly. I was the instructor for a kids climbing camp at Castle rock last week for Outback Adventures, and it was a full class too. I can tell you I appreciated the kids who already knew how to tie in and climb, they made it a little bit easier on me.
Next week Outback has a multisport class up in Marin, three days kayaking, two climbing. Kinda far, though. I know it's not full.

Finally, there are other people boycotting that place... I've been boycotting since they jacked up their prices last fall and got rid of the guest passes. I'd been a member almost continuously (there were a couple of years of Touchstone membership in there) since day one...

That's what my dad would do with me. Except I'd get maybe $10 for fishing bait. He'd say "if you get arrested....I'm not getting you until Monday!
