Some of you sallies read the forecast for Saturday. Yep 50% chance, really meant dry rock in the lower canyon and wet sloppy shit in the valley proper.
Jake and I had a nice day yesterday at Arch Rock. I had always wanted to do Enlish Breakfast Crack.

I got to lead the 1st pitch grovel-fest and lose a few pounds.
Oddly, while it took me forever to lead the 1st pitch....Jake cruzed in 5 min!
Does this mean I can now post up on offwidth.com??

Are we developing a "widefetish", perhaps? ;)
OW is good shtuff, Maynard.
That which doesn't kill you, makes you stronger........or some such nonsense.
EBC is a cool route. Cheers. ;D
-
sorry champ, couldn't take the risk.
i got a sunburn today. It's tuff climbing at Pinns.
-
Munge has a widefetish..........Or so I've heard. ;)
-
Hey F4, post that pic I took of you at the top of the first pitch. We really did luck out with the weather, it looks like it's gonna rain or snow the rest of the week in the valley! The only bummer was that we didn't get to climb with Munge and the other chaps - otherwise a great weekend.
-
more like a wide infection, still treating it. hoping it will go away. ;)
yeah, would have been fun to climb with you guys.
-
Ya couldda done some heal-toeing.
-
Glad to see you guys rocked it out without the so called weather!
That 1st pitch is burly and awk, Not to mention the houdini shizzle needed to get out of the slot and to the anchor stance.
I can't remember but I probably vomited somewhere on the route.
Too much sun in your picture, which means you had a great weekend ;)

Luck all the way around. Arch is an AWESOME place to spend on a cold day though. Summer time its a whole 'nother thing.
-
Hey Josh, I wanted to vomit!
The worse part of it was doing the 2nd pitch when I was already gassed. That was a cool pitch. Normally, I'd love to layback, but this time, ugh!
Yesterday was sunny and warm. The valley was empty.
Yet, there was a party on the E-But of El Cap.
It's going to take me a bit to download and covert my photos.

wow, East Butt in Jan? I'd think that Horsetail would soak the route! Awesome.....booking February trips for shore! Anyone else down?
-
F4 and Mud, I'll share this with you...

Happy Birthday F4! I think the sun came out just for you.
Sorry that we could not make the trip. Mud was (and still is) on call. When I dragged him to Santa Cruz for a bike demo, I played in the parking lot while he went on the trail so I could watch his pager. I was trained to do the proper response, but my test never came.
Looking forward to your E Butt report too.

DITTO!!!
BTW, did I misunderstand.....did you and Jake do East Butt?
-
^^^Yeah I thought you were talking smack on the foolish party that would brave the E butt in water park conditions.
-
As long as the wind is favorable the E Butt of El Cap would be ok.

And if it isn't
YER
GONNA
DIEEEE!!!!!!

E-Butt, me in the winter? No way. I just saw a party on it. Yesterday was a nice day...not much wind.
I was recovering from saturday's grovel-fest.
-
Obviously, I misunderstood. I thought the reason you knew that there was a party on E Butt was you went there too. I would think the descent for it should be hideous this time of the year with the snow and the snow melt.

Yup.....Them raps would be treacherous. :P :-[ :'(
