Title: Some idiot at the Pinnacles!

I was at the Pinnacles today and heard from the naturalist that climbing might be banned in the High Peaks area in the near future. Seems some idiot did some bush chopping around H&L Dome and climbed a few routes there, disturbing the nesting raptors. The naturalist said that the powers that be are pretty perturbed and are considering severly restricting climbing there.

Obviously the first question that comes to mind is; who is the naturalist? how do they know it was a climber? which bushes?  etc?



If this is a serious issue, some extension on our part to land managers would seem appropriate. Then edification thru rc.com, supertopo, etc. as well as postings at local gyms.

hrm, dunno her, but clearly she needs to sign up for Google's new dating service and relieve some of that tension!
