ice is going to be hard to get, better to wait for a true cold snap and head for pinns or castle for photo ops. I'm assuming this is run-off ice you're talking about?

If only crystal springs reservoir would leak more at the dam...

Mungie doesn't know where we are talking about ;D

Sorry man, but it's a stevens creek secret.

If the level drops....we will see.

Will check out and post up.

I know the secrets of the creek. You forget I was the official photographer for the Climber First Descent of Stevens Creek in a two-man raft trip last decade.

Epic!

HA, did that in a raft in mid 80's....F4 and I were just chatting about it. Epic, sick, stoopid, and downright dangerous. My fav still remains the Tyrolean crossing I did across a very swollen spillway.....no idea how I didn't die.

Keep us informed, I know you guys want snow, but I say F that as I want to send the rig on Monday.  Anybody want to head out there with me? Looking for people who don't mind heading into that cold and dank corridor for one or two belays.  I will let you use my new GrisGris 2.

Seems like the low snow predictions didn't quite pan out.

Still, we had a bit of snow here too, and it's 22 degrees out outside right now. Makes a guy look forward to a bedroom with its own wood stove, two dogs and a beautiful wife.

The girls made use of the snow here (sorry for the drift, but it didn't seem quite worthy of a separate thread; yet it's such a nice work of art):

Good job mungie. Did you see the first rays of light hit the parking lot?

Too bad it wasn't all white down there.

The snowman looks cool and all, the only problem is it's head is on sideways.  They gotta fix that before it is to late.

Early bird scouting huh?

Snow helps the scoping, then you can see what is a ledge.....

that is a rad snowman your girls rolled together Brad!

There was a half inch of snow in the shade on the eastside today and the ranger I asked said it was all from Saturday afternoon.  It was a gorgeous day and it was a little too warm in the sun to do real climbing.  So we climbed in the shade.  I stuck the dyno and fell pulling the lip on Ranger Bolts, I guess that is the logical progression after finally sticking the dyno.  What a heartbreaker. Then Moses sent Ranger Bolts easily on his second try.  Nice day and no wet rocks to be seen. We did not see another group of climbers.

Moses shaking out after the dyno on his ascent of Ranger Bolts.

Sending some good mojo you way for the next attempt.  If you go next weekend post up, I will take pics from the rim.

Just received a new camera from work.
