I did. But didn't have enough beer for it.
Side note; you ever taken the trail from "Old Pinnacles" trailhead up to junction of Condor Gulch trail? Worthy.
-
You mean from the maintenance yard up to the high peaks?
-
I just did it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I liked it not much rock but a nice hike.
-
yes F4.
as for no rock, well maybe not next to the trail.
-
Actually that is where The Rook is. I think it is the most remote formation in the monument (measured by how far it is from any other formation).
-
Ah, the Rook. It might be rock as opposed to a pile of gravel. The jury is out. It's only attribute is that it is close to where Roper used to camp.
-
you used to be able to camp over there beyond the maintenance area?
It's really nice over there, except for the maintenance yard part.
dang, I missed the golden age of pinns climbing.
-
I thought I about walking over to the rook but I did not. It would be cool if they open a couple of small walking campgrounds around the park.
-
I spoke with a ranger yesterday on the West Side and he said that walk-in campsites are in the works. We'll see.
-
at the expense of tearing up that meadow?
Down with the West Side Visitor Center
Just say no to RVs
-
Muge, that trail is a bitch. Save youself the trouble.
Good to hear there's walk in sites. but yes I have to question, why at the expense of that nice meadow.
