Heya folks, Julie and I are beginning to plan for next weekend. How have the conditions been up there lately? too hot? good?
After recommendations made, we're thinking of going up to Burst Rock. Thinking all the snow should be cleared out and good to go, anyone been up there?
Thanks!

Shawn, you'll (I'm pretty sure) soon be receiving a reply to this post from our esteemed Master of Mud "Mungeclimber," who you will no doubt meet some day in person. He will be telling you about the website he maintains which is devoted to climbing on the Sonora Pass Highway. It's an excellent site, much like this one.
Here's a link to that site's current Burst Rock discussion (go to the last entries - on page 3):

Many of us post on both sites as the season dictates.
BTW, we'll be around that weekend, so we'll see you both if you make it up this way?
-
ha, Munge will not lurk no doubt there
-
Yeah, for all those 200" climbs. The valley can't compare.

Factor, we understand and accept that your keyboarding skills are, well... lower than average. But 200 INCHES? Are you size challenged too?

Yeah that's a known fact...he told his wife that too. DOH
-
Well the climbs there are height challenged!

Shawn, (this is Shawn S. who recently hiked a hair ball island trail, right? who we climbed with at Ancient Dwarf?)
Going in this weekend. I can give you a full accounting when I get back Sunday night.

hee hee, good thing I'm on your FB, too ;)
Yep, it's me, Shawn S. I didn't know about the SPH website, will have to join there now, too! Great, let me know how it goes this weekend.
Brad, I met munge on an outing a couple of months ago with Alan and Steve. I also see munge's better-half at the gym pretty regularly. I'll finalize our plans with Julie, but sounds great, we'll stop by and see you guys.

Facebook's a cult, you guys!!!!666!!!
Our routes in Boise are kinda height challenged. THey range from 25' to 60' or so.
Gotta travel to bag a full pitch, or climb things over..... ;D Meh.
It's all good. Maybe I won't get too pumped out on those 200 inchers, eh? ;)
-
No pictures??
200 inches does go fast

I also see munge's better-half at the gym pretty regularly
what this means is that I've been lagging on getting into the gym. :(
she's been doing good lately.
F4, it's on FB
Skully, Burst is mostly shorter too.
-
Shorter ain't ALL bad... You can brag on doin' 20 pitches, or some such, right? ;)
Cheers, Rob. See you in Montana. You ARE goin', eh? 8) 8) 8)

yep, time off acquired. plans in motion

Brad, we're going to make it a daytrip for tomorrow. Both Julie and I have commitments on Sunday, so we'll look forward to working on the Ancient Dwarves area with you and then we'll head home at end of the day.
See ya in the morning!
