Has anyone heard if this will happen in '12?
Yes, there will be a Masters of Mud (Choss climbers, Rubble Romp) weekend in '12.
Date: April 20th-22nd.
(Easter is April 8th)
The AAC will also have a site next to us. We will have the same site Group site 123 (camp deliverance) as last year.
Cost: $20 per head
I need 10 bodies to break even.
An invite has been extended to the Central Coast (SLO) folk.
The Lodi contingent is welcome as well.
From Joe:
received this from AAC:
Pinnacles National Monument Rock Climbing: April 20-22
We have reserved a group campsite at the campground on the east side of the Pinns for Friday night and Saturday night. Climb on your own during the day and enjoy AAC sponsored snacks, beer and wine on Saturday evening. All meals are on your own. Cost for the weekend is $15 for AAC members/$20 for non-members.
To reserve your spot contact Lewis at: lewisrrr@yahoo.com or call 916-712-7942.
so as an AAC member, perhaps I don't need to bring as much beer?

Tenative date: April 22rd-24th.

Got smart
-
Nice; thanks for getting on it. I put it on the calendar.
-
Hold it - my calendar spit it back out as a Sunday through Tuesday. Were you really looking at a 2012 calendar?

And here we go again. Brad- you are right....mine did as well. Checking to make sure its not on a holiday event:-)
-
yep, not sure what happened. but it is 20-22nd.
-
Gee, don't all jump up and down for joy at once.
The excitement is just too much.
And don't give that lame excuse of it being prime Valley time.

You said it- fun climbing with pals though
-
thanks for setting this up. Will put it on the calendar.
-
Sounds good; I'm definitely up for it. Any thoughts on specific climbing locations, or will folks just meet up and go from there?
As for a more official Rockpile, I'll have to ask around and see if there is interest and time for staff, FOP, and others to put it together. I'm usually pretty swamped with work at that time of year, but we'll see.
-
Well Gavin, now that you mention it....
I'm trying to get the AAC in on it to get more bodies.
Climbing location....great idea, might do that for Sat. ideally have couple locations where folks will be on hand to help recommend routes to climb (I don't want to get into use permits and all that stuff ((unles it heads down that way))..
Also mulling how to setup a slideshow and see if Jim can give us a few pictures....of Pinnacles that is. The last location could facilitate a bedsheet for a screen. I just need a projector (ubber??)and a way to run it off of a car battery...
PS I have a site booked.
-
And when will we have a stickie for the M o M meeting??
-
Thank you for taking the lead on all this. I think combining with the AAC is a great idea.
-
Perhaps you you did not notice this thread is a sticky.
-
What does that do....keep it topward?
-
yes, and Factor can update the 1st post with details since the 1st post will always be at the top.
What does that do....keep it topward?
-
Noted (sneaky Admin)...I've updated the title to better describe what's going on.
The AAC will also have a site next to us. We will have the same site (camp deliverance) as last year.

I need 10 bodies to break even. So even the Dawsons are welcome ;)
This is a non-discriminatory event, so BLL is okay.
-
respectfully requesting a name acronym other than MoM
:P
-
Says the guy who has flaked out the past 3 yrs on this event.....
-
Correction, I came one time.....the time you bailed early sunday. All because you left the kids sleeping bag at home. Nice work dad. ::)
-
April? again?
-
Mungie....don't make Mr Mud point out the merits of the all mighty sticky
-
Damn, I've been edited again.
Yes, Mungie it is in April.
It was just 1 bag forgotten.
Plus I need to toughen him up.

It only gets better, cuz then they start talking.
That's great he is walking.

Only 2 more months to go....
Remember:
Friday & Saturday nights
$20per head
Group site 123, aka camp deliverance
The AAC was able to get an ajacent site next to us. So it should be fun.
Mucci & Uncle Stinkie.....are you guy in on the event? We can do Thai on Saturday night.
-
I was at the AAC event with my wife and daughter last year. Have not heard anything from them yet. I will be coming one way or the other so let me know if you need money in advance or if I can just give you a bad check in person.
-
Can I play? I'm a killer baker and promise to bring goodies!
-

The new section chair should send something out. You'd think it would be on the events calander.
You are more than welcome to join our site. Just no talking about giving squirrels CPR.
Payment, how about a couple free bridge passes ;D ;D
We'll be collecting there.
-
All good bakers are welcome!!!!!!
Invite anyone who might be interested. Heck invite those that are not.
-
One order of Special Brownies coming right up!
"Special" cuz they taste so darned good - dunno what you're thinking!
-
Will they be special enough to make me forget about work?
-
Cross my heart!
-
Sweet!
I will be there if I have to leave work at midnight.

Actually now you have a standard to live up so you have to bring even more!
so as an AAC member, perhaps I don't need to bring as much beer?
-
You're coming both as a Master of Mud and as an AAC member. That's two different capacities which requires twice as much beer. Bring IPA, you're good at choosing quality cold drinks.
-
Yes Joe, you still need to bring beer, chips, salasa,
I need to reach out and see about US hosting a dinner potluck Sat night with the AAC folks.
It is odd being both members.
Those who aren't AAC members yet....join up.

Group site 123, aka camp deliverance
Not sure i want to stay in a camp called deliverance - I saw that movie...surprised Hollywood hasn't remade it - but who could compete with Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty?
-
Not sure i want to stay in a camp called deliverance -
That's why we reserved our own spot - #41 8)
Looking forward to it!
-
I call it that due to it's @ the end of the road, the hanging tarp that I put up to give shade and all of the cooking junk we end up with.
Don't get a site. We usually have lots of room and if we don't....the AAC will who are next to us will.
Some pictures from last year.
Chilling by the fire at the end of the day

Why is James wearing a life preserver? Bring your sleeping bag this time...........
-
Eric is right, half the fun of the Rendezvous is hanging out in camp together in the evening and in the morning. If you want to get to know people it's a great way.
-
Why is James wearing a life preserver? Bring your sleeping bag this time...........
That's his stylish vest. Keeps him warm w/o bulk.
Sleeping bags are over-rated. I'm toughening him up.

thanks for the heads up re getting a site. i figured the name wasn't due to newbies being made to squeal like pigs or being told they had pretty mouths...or some little bald-headed dude playin' a banjo!!!...certain terms just conjure up old memories and that is definitely a vivid one - i remember my oldest sis telling the theater folks she was our mom since it was an R movie and we were just teenie boppers...

What is the word on a trail day on FRI or Sat?
Maybe just a half day?
Anybody know any projects, or areas that need attention?
I missed last year and will do what is necessary to organize a trash pick up day or something if need be.
Interested...
-
Anybody know any projects, or areas that need attention?
Sisters area needs some love. I.e. new chains ontop of heaven's gate.
will you make it for sat evening?
-
Yup, I am in for sat and sun.
I may come in on friday, anybody else?
Gonna step it up with food this year. Maybe a taco truck...
-

That's the plan...
-
Gonna step it up with food this year. Maybe a taco truck...
PM me on the food so we can coordinate.
My Thai theme is slipping as UncleS can't make it. So maybe back to fajitas??
Taco truck, mmm that's what the muds had for thier post-hitching party.
-
I'm thinking I will make it this year as long as I don't get sick at the last moment again. Hopefully I will head down on Friday. Not sure about Mittens' commitment level yet. I hope he can make it, as it's always fun watching that guy become the drunkest one at the party.
-
Also, if anyone wants to give a clinic on bolt replacement I would be really psyched.
-

that was one hell of a party.
-
that was one hell of a party.
So true! So True!
A valiant effort to finish the keg was made.
The best part was the taco truck showing up...why were you late.."ranger stopped me and I had to make him a taco!"
-
Update!!
Let's do a potluck on Saturday night???
Post up what you will be bringing.
Remember to say hi to the aac folks and join if you haven't.
-
potluck
Three-Bean Salad
And hopefully Uber Yummy Brownies Diablo if I can squeeze in a bake session this week.

And bring firewood. We will need lots.
Hard to imagine I'll go from Santiago on Thursday and be @ the pinnacles by Saturday. I'd shoot for Friday, but the kid will want family time.
-
Oops - just realized I emailed and sent a check to Lewis at AAC (didn't read the fine print), so we'll be next door.
Sounds like it will be One Big Happy anyhow-
-
It was to be a joint event...since most of us are AAC...
-
And bring firewood. We will need lots.
Bringing some
-
Starting my approach to the event. Be there in 48hrs or so. Chile let me out...will see how it goes getting in...
