Except for the heat and ticks, I'd say that was a perfect weekend of new friends and routes!
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did.
Thanks to Erik for hooking it all up!
-
I could not agree more. Had a great time. Weather was good so was the rock.
Thanks to all for the food and coffee. Hope to see you all on the rock fairly soon.
-
Great weekend! Got out to some new formations, figured out the approaches. Wish the campsites would have been a little more close together. It was hard to get over to the Mud&Crud site with a 3 year old who wanted to guard our tent from grumpy trolls all weekend!
-
Silly Olivia Rose...the Grumpy Troll was living in MY tent! ;)
She is such a doll, Todd! Pleasure to meet you and your lovely family.
-
Probably the best part was meeting new friends. No, maybe seeing all the old regulars again. No, new friends...
Hell, it was all good.
And actually, the grumpy troll is the guy who runs this site ;D
-
Thanks to everyone for showing up.
It's the people that make the event.
Pictures to follow.
-
It was cool meeting new all the new folks. Real cool meeting and getting to know Dave Rubine. Have been following him through his routes over the years.
-
Thank you everyone for all of your hospitality, stories, and great climbing adventures! It was wonderful to meet everyone. I look forward to more.
Aaron

way fun...let's do it again in the fall...
and gracias to Erik for reserving the site and putting it on our calendars....
-
Yep, thank you Erik. We still owe you a site fee.

I wonder whether the crowd at the Hand and the Frog on Saturday was an all time record? More people (not from our group) went out there on Sunday.
I think the crowded crowd at Upper Crust on Sunday was very likely a record for the crag (a little too much maybe, although everyone seemed to get along quite well).

Aaron
welcome to the fold bubba. heard you have been doing some big things out there!
keep on rockin' in the free world...

Pictures to follow.
Promises, promises... ::)
I can't believe I didn't take a single shot - so unlike me! The perfect chance was when Brad dragged my sorry butt up Lost Horizon's Fat Crack variation Saturday afternoon, but the batteries were dead and Phil's phone was in the car, dang it.
All the more reason for a repeat.

Funny, I don't recall any such dragging. From the way I saw it your sorry butt did OK by itself.
But, yeah, I don't think anyone but Erik brought a camera? Post up wonderful, sophisticated, erudite, intelligent host, and make it snappy ;D

Remove my name and I will....
-
Done. Sorry for the public exposure. I probably put your financial future at risk ;)

OFF WITH HER HEAD!

wait...maybe i should have a coronation first - can i be KING of SLUG?
-
Yeah, need to keep a low profile....
So anywho, here are a few pictures from the weekend. I had hoped to shoot folks climbing, but didn't come accross any and I bailed on Sunday.

i'll make sure i'm locked and loaded with my sights properly adjusted if i attend an event where you're there!
-
love the apparition in red.
so it looks like you guys actually have no proof that anyone climbed anything.
don't worry...i talked to some folks from AAC that can vouch for ya...
-
Factor, that first photo is really good; very unique.
Munge, we've got your chair, it's at the house now.
-
But I'm not ready for 108!!!

But I'm not ready for 108!!!
Yeah, probably best to wait until July. The snow at the house is still four feet deep.
See you then?

I agree. I was finally able to play with the camera @ night. The fire Joel had made did such a wonderful job lighting everyone up. Now I need to figure how to shoot stars and then get a night picture of the high peaks!
108 will come soon enough once we get back to that nice 80 weather.

I'm been meaning to post something about our no-show this past weekend. Sent out a couple PM's but forgot about all those others we were looking forward to meeting. We were talking to Creedence at the gym tonight and he said people were asking him Sunday if he was JC.
from Atomizer: I'm thinking I will make it this year as long as I don't get sick at the last moment again.
Looks like we pulled our own version of this. I got sideswiped by a nasty flu virus Tuesday night late and then KC came down with it and came home from work Friday afternoon. It was brutal! I'll spare ya the details but it took me a solid 5 days to feel even close to normal again. We were both so excited about the rendezvous - we bought a few extra amenities and some goodies and were all set to go. So along with being deathly ill, we were super disappointed!
-
whoa, bummers. Hope to see you next time or some time sooner on the rock. Here's to feeling better.

really?
Was thinking of coming up to finish the Short Cracks project.

Actually the first of the dogwoods are starting to bloom. It's gonna be a great weekend up here.

Cool
want to climb saturday?

Yes. I've got to get the Recurve formation/area done and Diamond Cutter Buttress started (do topo, climb one or both west side routes). Or, if Scuffy is up, work with him on his area. Are you coming up?
-
Ha, so I'm the only one holding evidence that anyone climbed during the gathering. Didn't take many action photos, but still more than anyone else! ;D

depends on how much I get done this morning.
Would you be able to give me some belays on the project in the morning, then the rest of the day I'll support your efforts?
-
Just saw this.
Scuffy is coming up now for sure and it is imperative that I get together with him to get as much info as I can. So I can't join you this weekend. But Alan and Tonya and probably a young friend of theirs are coming and I could likely get the friend (I've climbed with him and will vouch) to help you in the morning and then you could join us???
I'll call them on their cell (they're driving up now) if you think that would work for you. Call me at home??
-
Not happening.
Not really interested in having someone I don't know hold potential whips, but appreciate the thought.
Plus I didn't get everything I needed done this afternoon, done.
Tomorrow is now work early. Maybe Castle.
Sunday leaving loose now to relax and or take back the TV I just bought.
