On day three of our PCT trip, both girls and I spread some of Luc Gruenther's ashes at Pinchot Pass. We did this at the request of his widow (Cassy) and his mother (Romel). Luc had the John Muir Trail on his life list and the PCT and JMT are the same trail here.

I'm not ashamed to admit that this process involved a fair number of tears.

I intend to describe what we did in my PCT trip report and then show Cassy and Romel the photos by linking them the trip report in an email. I wanted to let our group of posters know this so that, perhaps, we can all refrain from posting things here that we might not want to be read by a new widow and/or a mother who has recently lost her son.
