hola amigos...
I'm planning on doing this on Friday only...if anyone wants to ride together from the cruz, give a holla...
-
I'm going Friday and Saturday. Joe, we'll do some trail work together again?
-
I will be there one day. Not sure which yet
-
I'm screwed. Maybe Sunday...
-
We're heading down Friday afternoon and will stay Fri and Sat nights - depending on how it's going probably stay for part of the day Sunday.
-
I'm screwed. Maybe Sunday...
hope you enjoyed it.
-
Glad to give you cheap humor. I'll be here all week.
-
I'll be down Friday with Joe, but have to go see Les Claypool that night per my Cousin's orders and free tickets. Can't make it Saturday as there is the 20th anniversary of Pacific Edge Party... I guess that's my 20th climbing anniversary too. I'll determine if I can make it Sunday... after I see what type of beer Tom buys.
-
20 years! Wow where has time gone.
I remember going there right after they had opened.
-
Thanks to everyone who came out to work and hang.
We really had fun and can't wait for next year's event!
A special thanks to Larry and Jane for hosting!!
We accomplished a lot - there is still a crew working today at Tourist Trap.
Hopefully Gavin will get lots of pics and post.
Last night was a good time with tasty grindage, adult beverages and some choice swag.
I felt extra lucky to snag a 5.10 beanie, a Petzl DVD and half dozen OP draws.
Two of my geo students came out to work and climb outside(for the first time!) - shout out to Sam and Alyse :)
Encouraging Eric and Melissa, Moose and Danielle to join M&C.

Lots of fun and good work by all. I'm psyched to see what happened after I left. But the real question is...
When do we get our Masters of Mud Mugs????

Yeah, we want mugs.
That was a very fun and very productive weekend. What did we have working on Saturday, maybe 50 people? And the party/raffle/talk that night was pretty cool too. Lot's of Pinnacles newbies mixing with lots of Pinnacles veterans.
-
And Gavin, can you post some pics if you are allowed to (is there a difference between photos you take while on duty and off duty?).
-
Good to hear Brad.
It inspires me to start working on our '14 Mud N Crud weekend.
-
Nice Pinns shot - however - the captain and red rocks? - sacrilege! Funny pic of munge makes up for it though.
That's two pleads for Gavin - he must be otherwise engaged...
Brad takes a run up The Big Pucker on Friday afternoon...

The Climber Appreciation event put on by Larry and crew from Mountain Tools was incredible. We got quite a bit of work done around Discovery Wall and Top Rope Rock, and Sunday some work was done at the Tourist Trap.
On Saturday Evening Mountain Tools put on quite the show. There was a ton of food, beer and swag. I do not think anyone went home empty handed. I think there had to be at least 50 people there on Saturday and many stayed for the BBQ and beverages. Mountain Tools also provided a nice T-Shirt and 5.10 hanky for all workers.
It was great to see the turn out by different folks on the forum. I know there are not a ton of folks here but we had a very good turn out. From what I know Brad was there working Friday and Saturday plus it looks like he donated 2 or three Guide Books including a Guide Book that was signed by all the workers and presented to Jaimie <sp>. Joe and Adam on Friday. Jim, JC and KC, Bob, Mr Mud on Saturday. Gavin was there taking many pictures and was looking a bit sore toward the end of the day (many good healing vibes and much good mojo to you). I will post some pics tomorrow or so.
If I forgot anyone curse me loudly.
-
Those who weren't there on Friday missed seeing Brad, Adam and Joe working hard in the hot sun with their shirts off -:)
-
The Climber Appreciation event was awesome; it was so great seeing the variety of folks that showed up and put in the effort to help the park. Amazing what can be accomplished by a few dozen people with motivation and passion.
Sorry for the delay in posting pics... I'll try to get 'em up tomorrow.
-
Curses,
I missed Bruce!
Seriously glad I missed Friday.....

Adam still had his shirt off when we got there...Joe surprisingly did not...Brad was climbing in short shorts...

I'm highjacking Mud's comment from Gavin's TR thread:
what do you all think. Do you have a preference? I would probably have to crop the heighth a bit for a mug shot.

and Factor's comment:
the high peaks sunset was nice.
I agree with Factor - the High peaks Sunset is the best mix of scenery and crags - it's a great profile of Squareblock and Rabbit Rock. If we're choosing from these - then that one gets my vote. I have some good memories of climbing on both of those formations...and these too!

Alright, time for some photos. Here's a selection from Registration on Saturday... Definitely great to see everyone passing through and signing up. I'll include a follow-up post with some actual trail work photos in a bit.

Okay, here are some shots of folks working at Discovery Wall on Saturday, and a few at the end of those that stayed to work at Tourist Trap on Sunday. I've got more images, but processed all these initially as requested by NPS employees, Linda and Ty from Access Fund, and Larry from Mtn. Tools.

love it! Thanks Gavin!!
-
ok, looks like it is this image
http://www.gavinemmons.com/#/gallery/pinnacles-years-2009-2013/high-peaks-sunset/
Gavin. It will be on a mug, the place I found likes the highest resolution they can get. Longer, less tall images work best. The image I have on my test mug actually wraps around the mug ( stops just shy of 1" from the handle on each side ).
I will probably superimpose some text on the mug.
I can do one test mug then send out a pic of what it looks like to get feed back.

Sounds good, Mud. I'll send you a couple of versions sized large enough at 300 DPI that you should have no problems getting the image to work on the mugs, even if you need to end up cropping and downsizing a bit.
-
Excellent thanks. I will post up the demo as soon as it is done.
