I think she is trying to tell me something...
-
a rack of sport draws might have hurt more. Now cams.....
-
It's a RURP? Why what have you been doing outside of Pinns that might interest you in a RURP?
-
I dig it.

Nest that and its pro....
-
you can bolt off that in the Pins
-
you can bolt off that in the Pins
Heck you can bivy off that if you are old and crusty
-
I'm impressed to see a modern climber who is (apparently) interested in using a RURP. Nowadays it seems that, instead of using these older types of tools, all the aid climbers just want to play with their Peckers. ;D
-
maybe she bought him the rurp cuz she wants his..
um, never mind
-
I've placed a RURP at the Pinns on Mustache. Even equalized it with a #1 tomahawk.
Totally held long enough for me to exhale before they both blew (along with the blade below it) and I hit the ground on my back from 7-10 feet up.
-
Now that I have this hardware I need to figure out a place to use it. Maybe some exploratory hard aid activity in Southern Yosemite? Balloon Dome comes to mind.
Just read Cobbeldik's Premeditated TR... not sure if I am terrified or intrigued.
-
not sure if I am terrified or intrigued.
The two aren't mutually exclusive. Ask Cobbledik about that!
-
Falconry Brad. I play with my Hawks. My Peckers sit in a box in the garage.
-
…. My Peckers sit in a box in the garage.
Wow, I'm genuinely sorry for you. :D
-

I don't- he has more than one apparently
-
40 Hawks and No Kit!
well, more like 7 Hawks and 3 kits, but you see what I did there with the language.
heh
-
Fear is the most intriguing emotion of all
-
Mud Falconry???
Glad they don't appear much @ the Pinns.
-
It is probably about the smallest piece of equipment that can be pounded in...just saying.
-
Colonel Clink! Welcome to the forum :)
-
yes, welcome

Unless you are using copperheads, but those are merely pounded on.
Welcome to the club!
-
copperheads at the Pins, jeepers, that would be out there.
-

A #1 tomahawk is going to weigh in with a thinner slice of metal along with less of it going into the rock.

I asked Brad if he suggested having any heads on my rack when I spoke to him in the parking lot before my first attempt at Premeditated and he just laughed.. or maybe he just scoffed, or guffawed, or he lauoffawed.

Copperheads in Pinns? Ok that thought made me poop. Just a little. Scary
-
Chead ON the cobbles. Not between.
-
Batheads ftw
-
'trenched cobbles' might become the new term of art, eh?
-
trenching cobbles has never crossed my mind, although it might be fun to try.
-

Not likely. More probable is that you and others like you say "trenched cobbles, trenched cobbles" as you're led away in a nice white suit with arms that tie together in the back.

Something really weird has happened. I had no idea that a RURP was a contiguous living system. Some how my RURP has completed binary fission. What do I do now?

Nope. I can't be bot.
Gotta go to bed soon, or I'll be up at midnight.
-

Lol thats too funny man. Love to the family my friend.
-
tribble syndrome?
-
We could do some damage with that rack. A little light on the hawks, 40 is damn near mandatory..
Where are your copperhead pounders and chisels? Blow tube, brush, and butter knife? GETSOME!
Come to the darkside.
-
Don't go there-to the dark side-it is an incurable sickness of the mind. Words like "premeditated" will attract instead of repel your curiosity. You should not be left alone, by yourself...need a support group.
-
is the butter knife for really thin cracks?

Or for stabbing yourself to take your mind off the junk you are standing on.....

Is this the Brad version of "yer gonna die!"?

Purchased a couple of chisels and 1/8" punch. Just finished making my butter knife..The darkside doesn't look so bad plus Mucci told me they have cookies on that side!
Look here is the proof!

Any suggestions on routes to test out my new gear?
-
Jericho
-
Mucci, if I ask real nicely can I please get the topo?
-
Cobbledik just repeated it. He has some important revisions to the topo. They trundled all of the death block belayer slayers, sounds good to go. I will let him post up his corrections, here is the original topo:

You might like it, especially since you already like climbing at pinnacles.
-
Could Mr Mud free it?
-
right now I am lucky to free Portent.
-
Topo is fine feature-wise. Only issues are rap distances. If you're using a 200' static haul line then you'll need two ropes for the first rap from summit and you'll need to not skip belay 7 when rapping. To hit the ground you'll need to put a pin in at belay 1 to rap plumb to the ground.
This is a grand route. Minimal nailing and all of it thin. All A2 (the A2+ is more about knowing how to avoid sharp edges and loose blocks) pitch 1 and 2 are easy but weird hauling, the rest is wonderful.

you know to the op, sometimes a rurp is just rurp.
-
Jesus, freeing the p6 iron messiah would be way proud, arrow size crack.
He'll, even getting to p8 belay would be burl with free climbing shoes.
With a few variations it would go.
-
Just looking out for Mr Mud.
