Yesterday, on the way to eggshell/freedom dome, I found a #4 chouinard wired stopper buried in the ground. It must have been made in '72, since it has an open swage.
How many people are climbing in the Pinns with classic Chouinard nuts? The nut was clearly well used and also quite weathered. I wonder how long its been there?

Oh, a stopper. I clicked on the thread thinking that you'd run into Waldo, or Clink, or Rob on the trail. ;D

Nice find! Used to have a few...I totally dropped that:-)

You were still in diapers when that was being used.

I'm not swaged either.

Ha Brad!
I bought my first nut in like '82.....right before mine finally dropped :-)

I'll take your word for it (I don't - do not - need to see the proof).

Sounds about right (youngster).

We'll have to drink something stronger than Bl if we start comparing old nuts.

And we wonder why poor innocent bad rock isn't a regular around here.
Sorry sir (or ma'm) for having hijacked what started as a nice thread.

My religion required that my parents had me swaged right after birth.
But I wouldn't be a real man until my Boltmitzfah.

Is this one of Mungie's missing small nuts?

Eureka!

in reading the Title I thought the person had met Brad.

neigh, good horse. My tiny brass is in the garage in good steed. Though I do have a nut that looks suspiciously like that in the garage. hmmm

I've got one, too. Did that come out right?
-
Oh my.

One might summarize by saying this thread has been mostly about things that were dropped or things that dropped.
No matter how you look at it, it seems to be delivery of a package with no return address...
