Heck...let me follow you and the food and (good) beer is on me!
I'm off the first week of April and will be looking for some adventure if weather permits.
Pinnacles is fine but a road trip wouldn't suck either.
Line forms to the left...

Let's talk, if you're up for granite.
-
granite.
what!

Let's talk, if you're up for granite.
I was hoping you'd say that.
-
Pinnacles is fine.
I have the whole 1st week off too and no one to climb with. Brad said he might be able to get out toward the end of the week but I'll be itchin' to get on some crud Mon, Tues, Wed and more if he can't go. Let's have a choss fest!
Granite heads need to take their talk over to the SPH forum! This site is for mud masters :0
-
what!
Amen! That's a different site ;)
-
If I read your post correctly, you'd be willing to go climbing with me, provide careful belays, and, in return, be poisoned? The food goes your way, right?
Have you ever tasted my cooking? Sorry, I've always thought of you as a great (potential) partner, but I can't stand the idea of inflicting that on anyone.
Would you climb with me if I didn't feed you?
-
I'm good for Saturday (3/22) if you care to warm up a bit. No food is required, just beer.
-
Define (good) beer, and Waldo, what does "just beer" cover?
-
If I read your post correctly
Brad, she moved to fast for you to catch what the meaning. I can slow it down for you.
First the title "Will belay for food", this implies that in return for belaying she will receive food. Then there is the first word of the accompanying lead post "heck...", which is a complete and immediate reversal of the first statement. She then offers not only to belay but to also provide sustenance and quality adult beverages, but with a string attached. The person taking the offer must lead.
Hope this heips :P

Clink, Tecate - what else?

Clink, Tecate - what else?
Bob, did you hear about the recent weekend seminar that involved the CEOs of all the major beer companies?
-
Why drive so far to go climbing?
Pinns is where its at.

Nope. I didn't get my invitation.

It was a three day meeting/conference and all the beer bigwigs were there.
On the last night they all had dinner together, very festive. As the waitress went around the table she asked for food and drink orders. The Budweiser CEO ordered dinner and, to drink, a Bud. Coors Junior had a steak and, of course, a Coors. The guy from that brewery in Wisconsin had dinner and a PBR. The Tecate importer got a Mexican style dish and Tecate to drink.
The waitress then came around to the CEO from Guinness. He ordered a fine meal and... a Diet Pepsi. Everyone else at the table heard this and gasped as if they were one. Then silence rang like a loud bell. Finally, the CEO from Miller Brewing asked the man from Guinness: "aren't you having beer with dinner?"
He looked up. He saw the wildly curious stares from all the other CEOs. Then he said: "No, no. If none of you are drinking beer then neither will I."
-
Did he learn that trick from the Sierra Nevada dude, or the most interesting man in the world?

I take it from this that you're bringing Guinness for all to the April gathering?

Damn! - that is a lot of key boarding - surprised you can find the time!

Dude - you must be "doing" something else because that makes no sense - how does climbing runout moss and choss make climbing bullet granite easier? I get it - after being scared shitless on runout moss and choss - anything seems easier by comparison. Now just for the record, when was the last time you were at Pinns? I haven't seen you in my last 50 trips ;)
And quit talking about granite...damnit...Janet...

THANK YOU!

I think the title of the thread was meant to read - Free food and beer for Rope Guns ;)

Has global warming shortened Pinns climbing season for the future? If Munge is on granite though, he is not running up the unclimbed beauties here.
Bunch of detached flakes.
-
Don't even know where to start...knew you fellas would entertain yourselves in my absence.
Munge and I are currently in negotiations.
FYI - Good beer in my book is usually Sierra or Lagunitas IPA's.
Luckily I like most of you enough to overlook your poor choices.

Leaning to conservative side I tend toward lines formed to the right.
Wait, I've been duped, I hate lines.

#1 - For the last time - There is no Pinns season!
#2 - speaking of running - when Mungie does climb Pinns (less and less these days) - he has a habit of soloing or running it out on "easy" terrain creating potentially unrepeatable routes for beginners...this is not a criticism - merely an observation ;)
# 3 Touché
-
Free Beer and Food???
Will climb anything...
Schedule completely opened.

You're 3rd in line...

for beginners
Assumes much.
Not everything is "for" something else.
Not criticism, just fact. :)

We all know what assuming does.
I'm just jealous because I recently tried to establish two runout climbs and my partners found a gear placement I overlooked on one and then added another bolt (from stance, ground up) on the other one after I ran it to the top.
I am going to try to establish some good lower grade FA's that won't be too terrifying - we don't want to remove all the terror with Pinns bold climbing history right?

Wasn't this what we meant to do on The Inn Crowd? And I think we accomplished our goal too, right?

Absolutely! Now we need to do more like that one - although I did catch a little flack for running it slightly through the crux ;)
-
You're 3rd in line...
The only thing worse than being low down on the list is knowing you're low down on the list - I'm probably not even on it - but that's okay - I always got picked first in gym if I wasn't the captain and I did my share of ass kickin' on the playground back when that was still looked upon with pride ;)
-
dam, I never got picked first.
your banned for life

I think we need more Big Bad West climbs!
-
JC, might be time to reopen the drug store on a few.
-
I think we need more Big Bad West climbs!
Amen.
And...JC...you know you're always on my list.
