Title: Diving question
Post by: mungeclimber on August 07, 2006, 06:43:42 PM
Is it possible to be a diver, and enjoy it, but never go deeper than 20'?

I think I could surface from 20' if I panicked. hahahaha

You could surface from 40ft if something happened. I actually had to do it from 30ft on my first dive. The DM turned my air on after Jenny had and I didn't check until I was 30ft down.

Diving is just like climbing, don't panic, just blow bubbles.

if you are willing to dive non-standard sites you can have a lot of fun only diving down to 20 feet.  Take a flash light and poke around in all the holes.  That is where all the cool shit is.  One comment I have heard Bill say many times is "either 300 feet or 3 feet".   The only problem you will have is sometimes the viz does not open up till you get below 30 - 40 feet.  I will say this if you dive a lot around 20 feet it will be just a matter of time before you hit a cool site and end up at 30 to 40 and never know it till you look at your gauge.

Yea both Coral Street and The Sewers have really good diving without going very deep.
