NPR. National Public Radio. The most objective and best news out there.
I listen to it on the radio every morning on the drive in to work.
And now, all of YOU who have been secretly jealous of my NORMAL LENGTH SHORTS have every reason to be even more jealous. Why?
Because that news source - the best out there - told us on their radio program this morning that short shorts are back. Yep. BACK.
They've only got a small blurb on their web site. Here it is:
Who Wears Short Shorts?

Hemlines are on the rise this summer. The Wall Street Journal spotted the trend, pointing out that inseams have gone from about 15 inches to more like seven.
Can you all read that? Inseams are up eight inches in one year. Me a trend-setter? Whoda thunkit? No big surprise though at that.
Now I know YOU ALL are green with envy. I know you'll want to hear the news for yourselves. So, here's a link to the web site with the story (click on it and then click on the audio);
http://www.npr.org/2014/05/15/312674214/the-last-word-in-business
And, if it works, this might be an actual link to the radio story itself (can one link an audio file into an internet thread?).
javascript:NPR.Player.openPlayer(312674214,%20312674215,%20null,%20NPR.Player.Action.PLAY_NOW,%20NPR.Player.Type.STORY,%20'0')
Either way, vindication is oh so sweet. Bwahhahahaha!!!!!

I was with you all along.

You know, come to think of it, you might be right. But I don't actually recall seeing you wear short shorts.
Maybe I don't recall that because, between the flaming orange shirt, and the blinding white of your legs I couldn't see at all?
-
I just bought some today.
-
And a BOD.
-
Clearly the fashion industry is just catching up to the MTE trends.
Anyone that knows what MTE is has been climbing with Brad for quite a while.

Wow, have we really been climbing together that long? That phrase goes back to my days at U.C.S.B. in the early '80s.
And I can actually recall to within two days the date of the first day you and I climbed together. It was the weekend two weeks after Vicki and I got married, so it would have been September 26 or 27, 1992. Lower Yosemite Falls and Sunnyside Bench areas in The Valley. With the Burtons.
And Adam, great news about the Bod harness. You'll be POUNDS lighter without those cumbersome new-fashion "padded" things, and be able to climb grades harder. After all, that obviously works for me.
-
Oh, and Adam, can you hear that noise?
-
You mean all those shorts I threw away will come back? At school here many of the "gang kids" wear their shorts down to the tops of their socks.
-
No new shorts over here. They didn't call me "bird legs" in jr hi for nothing.

scared for life

(NPR n........ public radio)You are a fashion wizard. I was laughing so hard I was barely able read it to Martha.
Have you checked out Munge's Tolkien names thread on ST.? Mt. Doom....?

scared for life
And maybe scarred for life too?

Yep. and I got some good name ideas from it for the lower formation (the one south of Weathertop).
-
No more comment from J.C. That means he was out re-bolting today.
No comments at all from F4 or SQUIDDO. That mean that they were both out ALL DAY, shopping for their own short shorts.

Big, yellow and talkative. Mitt didn't like him.

cut me some slack. Too many consecutive long days at work. I hear it has been getting warm out during the day.

Sorry. I wasn't sure that that was even a typo. Some misinformed people might be scared (for life) by short shorts.
We need to win you the lottery before these long work weeks kill you. Although at least if you're at work you're not out re-injuring your finger (always look on the bright side of life...).

my brained in beyond fuzzy. just friggin tired at the moment. waiting for call back from MS support. Kinda like being strung out on some desperate lead, VM down talus sharks below. The company hangs in the balance. Palms sweaty? The shakes? Breath deep and see if ya can hold it together.
I am at the moment jealous.
Here's to sweat in your eye
-
dodged the talus sharks! whoo hooo. Will be taking some falling rocks but lived so see another day.
-
Nice! Can u get out memorial weekend?
