It's on!
Special pricing, well only if Mungie shows.
Mark your calendars.
Back to site 123, aka camp deliverance.
More gibberish to follow.
-
I'll be there. 5 total.
Will let Caleb know the dates for his trailer site.
-
Do we need a 2nd group site?
-
I like special pricing. Especially if this is a wet year, I'll be there.
-
How many per site?
-
20
We have grown over the years....in a good way.
-
We're in for sure. Either three or five, or six, not sure yet.
-
Me and Kat for sure and maybe our two adopted climbing daughters.
-
Somewhere between 4 and 19. I will find out if Geoff, Annette, Jeremy, Sherrill and kids are going to join us or trailer it.
-
We need to get this in orange to flag JC's tent site. The rockiest spot around.
-
Please count me and Dina in.
-
Please count me and Dina in.
And your Dutch oven!
-
Martha bought a new dutch oven for $6 at a thrift store. We will bring it and get schooling from the master.
-
Oh goody.
;D
-
Just me - though I eat for three.
-
Just me - though I eat for three.
Bring beer for 6 and it evens out.
-
Dutch oven is a given. I guess Brad said that he was on my team this year. So Brad what are we cookin?
-
So Brad what are we cookin?
And I thought your FAs were bold. Are you nuts? I'm a terrible cook (you gotta care to be good at it).
-
So Brad what are we cookin?
Actually, I take part of that back.
I'm really not a very good cook (I don't do it very often). But if you are serious about me helping you, talk to me about it in the next months and I will do it. I will diligently try to help you cook a nice meal for a group of people.
-
I will diligently try to help you cook a nice meal for a group of people.
half a star.
-
half a star.
Well, for you then I will diligently heat up a can of quality dog food.
And you can go eat by yourself, over by the highway.
-
on the dashed white line?
-
I will diligently try to help you cook a nice meal for a group of people.
Now You're Cookin'!
-
Now You're Cookin'!
???
I will assist in the beautiful creation of edible delights, the composed organization of quality ingredients into a symphony of gastric delights for the impressive gathering of exceptional and charismatic Masters of Mud.
Brad's line rewritten to be a little compelling.
Unless he was planning on microwaving frozen corndogs in the bathroom and running them back to camp, then the first half of his sentence would be appropriate.
-
I will assist...
That part is Brad's job.
...in the beautiful creation of edible delights, the composed organization of quality ingredients into a symphony of gastric delights for the impressive gathering of exceptional and charismatic Masters of Mud.
And that part describes what Aaron will do (with Brad's attempts to help).
-
Bring beer for 6 and it evens out.
I'll bring beer for twelve and that should cover both of us.
-
Hey you two, when are we wrapping up at the res? Waiting till MoM?
How is the knee?
-
Hey you two, when are we wrapping up at the res? Waiting till MoM?
How is the knee?
After the closures? Let me place the next bolt?
-
So you can run it out to the top? Typically JC's and Aaron's style ;)
-
Just added it to my calendar!
This time...no bike riding for at least a month prior. ::)
-
Looks like Dave W. will make it.
-
Bunch of commie pinkos with this April plan.
February is by far superior.
I'll probably go.
bah. humbug.
-
I will have at least one good beer.
insert smiley
-
Looks like Dave W. will make it.
Excellent. I'll be bringing my first ascentionists' signatures book then. And, actually, come to think of it, I'll now need Noal to sign that too.
-
I need to get definite #s.
the site holds 20 folks...and we are at 22.
Brad: 6
Clink: 5
Me: 1
Arron: 2
Mr/MrsM: 2
JCs: 2
Crux: 2
Mungie: 1
Dave W: 1
-
I would like to attend. If there's no more room I can get another campsite, sleep in the bushes, or pretend to part of another group site. An eagle scout uniform would fit the bill as a disguise.>:D
Brad, I would love to sign your book. Do you guys still want to make some t-shirts?
-
Factor should get two sites and - AND - we should all be careful to get him reimbursement money.
Noal, yes on the shirts.
-
I checked the group sites when I was corresponding with Kristen from the AAC. They are booked months in advance. She said she got two of the regular sites for the AAC nearby so we could "share" the event with them.
-
I have booked a camp and a RV site for my peeps(Caleb has a trailer) I want options due to Martha's upcoming foot surgery.
So my 5 slots are up for grabs in the group site.
There are more tent and RV sites available at Recreation.gov
Bringing chef hats for Brad and Aaron
-
yeah, I in hind site, we need 2 sites...next year I will.
they go fast.
The AAC is welcome to visit...except them santa cruz folks....
-
Brad: 6
Clink: 0

Mr/MrsM: 2

Looks like 17 so far then at Group?
-
Me being F4.
Not me or Munge.
Why do you always have to confuse things?
-
sorry, copy and pasted the list.
yeah "me" in my list is "F4" from his list.
There were way more people than that last time.
Brad seems to draw a crowd, so I'm wondering if I should stay at the Four Seasons to make space for someone else? ;)
-
Ya'll get another site, but store your beer with me.
Deal?
-
Buahaha, fat chance!
-
There are still camping sites available at recreation.gov if anyone would like to reserve a site.
We have sites 15, 6, and 115 reserved, now it looks like my grandson and his parents, and also my daughter Kate are coming. F4, next year we will spring for that additional group site early.
-
Yup, 123, 122, which are next to each other.
The Young entourage takes 122.
Sorry, but I like 123.
-
It's a month from NOW!!!! All ya'll MoM's ready?
BTW I nominate Caleb(40) and my grandson Johnny(3.5) as Apprentice's of Mud (Caleb will never make Master do to the granite thing, and his inability to rate mud-climbs). The mythical Geoff Norris(damn near as old as Brad) may even appear.
I call Joe & Gavin, for alternating rope guns and myself to be the "Official" sampler of Aaron's camp recipes. We will bring Corralitos sausage.
-
Woohoo!! Totally looking forward to it!
-
I might even be able to climb easy stuff by then.
-

Whatever! Translation "I might even be able to lead 5.12a by then."

Corrected translation (this is Mr. Mud we're talking about): "I might even be able to lead 5.12a and call it 5.9+ by then."

Agreed!

I have a conflict on Saturday, so will try and be out on Sunday.
-
I do not use the + anymore.

You still owe $20.
Event fees.
-
I'll round up some Swiss sausage so we can have a taste-off with the Corralitos weenies.

I'm in :yesnod:

Weenies?
Waldo, I am sorry it must come to this. You are SO going down, but I will do it slow and savory. It's sausage

Hold it, when he said "weenies," I didn't think he was talking about the Corralitos food?
-
is this an RSVP event?
if so, I'm rsvping for some part, mostly likely saturday overnight.....Zachery is making a return appearance and hoping that Alex will be there as well.....

I'll not reveal all the secrets of preparing Swiss Sausage, but one is Tecate, applied liberally - internally.
-
I need an updated count. It looks like we are still good.
Cost: $10 a head

I will be there Friday afternoon and get the tarp setup.
I can cook some protein Saturday night (chicken skewers in peanut sauce OR a massive Tri-tip!)
-
F-4 we have about 15-18 of our extended MoM group in three separate sites coming in on Friday evening as well.
-
I'll double the meat
-
Factor: believe it or not, 10 from this neck of the woods. I hope we all fit :o
-

JCs: 2?
Crux: 2
Mungie: 1

Granted this might ebb and flow between Friday and Saturday nights. The issue will be parking.
-
...The issue will be parking.
Yes, big time. We'll have to all try to bring as few cars as we can.
-
Is there still room for me to attend? I thought I RSVP'd but I'm not on the list.
-
There are 12 walk up sites, we may be able to grab one for overflow, if needed.
2 reservable sites are still available for Fri night only at recreation.gov.
-
Is there still room for me to attend? I thought I RSVP'd but I'm not on the list.
Noal, you can have my spot for camping. I'm paid up, and won't be camping. Just there on Sunday.
-
What time and location will folks be on the rocks on that Sunday?
-
Sunday have breakfast with us. I have to pack up camp and send some of my crew off, then catch up with the climbers.
-
timing?
-
timing?
6:30 to 11:30, whatever works.
-
I will plan on stopping at the campground first then.
If we plan this right, we can make it to Hollister for Super Taqueria and be back at the upper lot by 3pm when the bail train starts. ;)

At around 9:30am Saturday there wasn't a parking spot left, no shuttle so we walked.
How many pitches between 3-7:30pm factoring in rather full stomachs?
-
As many as you want. :)
I forgot about the lots filling up.
-
At around 9:30am Saturday there wasn't a parking spot left, no shuttle so we walked.
Was that 9:30 PST or 9:30 clink time?
-
PST
Pro Sport Type? Yes, the parking lot was full of them.
-
Update, I have a family commitment on Saturday afternoon. I will be there Friday morning or when they let us check in. Yeah real bummer as James is starting to climb more.
I can commit to cooking chicken Friday night. Est of folks?
If folks want to pay now, then can use paypal. Just pm me through the forum.
My goal is to recover the site fee and off-set the food costs.
-
We plan to come early Friday as well. Do you know what time they allow set up?
No need to cook for me and Phil but thanks.
What do we owe you?
Thanks for wrangling cats!
-
reservation says check in is 1pm, I will show up earlier to get James on the rock. I'll ask if I can check in then.
cost is $10 a head.
-
Hi all - I am 90% sure I can make it to pinns saturday-sunday. Any room left? Might tow husband in as well. ;)
-
$10?
Well, that means there are two spots Saturday paid for.
-
show up. We will find a way to make room.
-
$10 per personx20= $200. I think the site was $220?
I thought the AAC had space as well or at least that's what the email said.
The issue is parking....
Last count I had, any updates?

I am not sure yet what time we will be arriving on Fri. We and Bob are bringing some sausage for Sat. I am bringing the really good sausage, even though Bob thinks he is.

Dave Harden is coming, four months post ankle replacement surgery (that's not a light surgery, to say the least). Yesterday he was toproping 5.10. He wants to climb a little mud and see all you mudders.
-
F4, thanks for making this all happen. Did you get my PM?
I am bringing the really good sausage, even though Bob thinks he is.
Waldo is confident in the discriminating palates of hungry mudders.
-
I'll be bringing a batch of my soon-to-be-world-famous vegan oatmeal, pb, choc chip muffins.
Appropriate for dessert or breakfast.
Usually both.
:P
-
What would be the situation if I showed up unannounced? I have plans for the weekend, other than MoM, but might be able to stop by on my way back home.
-
All,
I just noticed that Pinnacles imposed seasonal fire restrictions eight weeks early. Does this apply to the campground? If so, we'll have to rethink the BBQ.
-
Ya'll got any room for a newcomer?
I think I've run across a few of you in the parking lot once or twice.
-
Ya'll got any room for a newcomer?
Always. Between the group site, the AAC members who are MoMs and are staying in that site, and a few smaller sites, I think we'll have room for all.

Excellent! I'll be there Friday evening and will plan to stay through Sunday. Looking forward to meeting and climbing with everyone.

there is always room for a rope gun
-
I think I've run across a few of you in the parking lot once or twice.
I'll check for tire tracks.
Do you know Peter Parker? If so, bring him too :)
-
Waldo, thanks for pointing it out...they HAVE started their camp fire ban early.
Darn!
So that does Nix the BBQ and samores.
-
Caleb is bringing his propane fire pit for pseudo campfires. Marshmallows are happening.
We will have some type of propane grill. Sausage is on.
A large Rubbermaid tub will be available for camp baths.

who is going Friday? anticipated arrival?
-
Shooting to hit upper lot at 9

Pay no mind to the dents in my car bumper, you wouldn't have wanted to climb with them anyway...
-
I can bring my propane BBQ....I wasn't sure if it was verboten.
I can BBQ thai peanut chicken skewers....
Thanks for ensuring the Samores will happen. I couldn't bring myself to tell James.
Infact I was told cook them over the stove....or else.
I'll be there around 10-12? I need to get James out climbing since we are only there Friday so camp may not be ready....
-

Nice one mj. You should fit right in :)
-

Great MoM weekend! Nice to see everyone and thanks for the birthday wishes. :)
-
Super fun time and a bonus with clink's family!
Already looking forward to next year.
-
It was really fun and a great group.
Thanks again to everyone and especially to Noal for the shirts, to F4 for getting the site, Waldo and clink for the sausages - and Aaron for the mac and cheese.
I was also glad? to be part of a crew that went to sample some nasty mud and crud yesterday :)
Bruce and Clint - the new bolts were savored :)

Great turnout this year. Good to see new and oldfaces.
Fall event!?
I'm already scheming about next year in my head...
-2 sites
-Co-host with the AAC, so sites 121 and 122 would work.
-Friday host welcome
-Sat host a big dinner
-Get the AAC to host their wine and cheese hour on Saturday
-Guidebook signings...TBL ( to be managed by Lisa).

Oh geez! I was hoping that was as fuzzy to everyone else as it was to me. ;D

Glad to read that everyone had a great time. Unfortunately, I was at the Sea Otter Classic on Friday to emcee Bicycling Magazine's Editor's Choice Awards and then on Saturday I was up in Sausalito to emcee a cycling gig with Greg Lemond. One of these days I might have a free weekend!

You were missed Bruce but a bunch of us clipped your new route bolts and rebolts - muchas gracias :)
Everyone really seemed to enjoy the Wizard Wall - I didn't get a chance to get on it but will definitely be making a trip back up there :)
-
Greg LaMond climbs at the Pinnacles?
Who'da thunk!
He is invited next year as well.
-
Had a good time. Was good to meet some new folks, and some old ones.
Much good food and the fireless fire was a good addition.
-
What was up with all the rattle snakes? 3 big ones. Kyqueener no like in big way.
-
Rattlesnakes? They heard about our sausage cook off.
-
Lets not bring up the snakes.
-
I had a great time this weekend and it was nice to meet everyone. I look forward to climbing with everyone again! (maybe minus the snakes...)
