Title: Rain: Rock or crud?
Post by: beanolar on February 28, 2015, 08:20:24 AM
Hey MoMs, I was wondering what y'all thought tomorrow would be like at pinns. Rain is pretty light here so far. Think it'll dry out for tomorrow? Or am I going to be sanding down all the 5.6s to 5.12s by pulling out those loose jugs.

Climb on choss routes and you won't take off anything that wasn't going to come off anyways.

We are going to a remotish area with Munge, meeting at 7:45(8) Eside p.lot. To climb bunches of stuff.
Some of the regulars are working or enameled and can't join us. This would be down your alley.

Sh#t, you get right down to the crux issue doncha?

I'm not going. I'm just spending the weekend at home, relaxing and watching Tricia grow (she's half an inch taller already this calendar year and she's eating like a horse).

Sweet! Have fun with horse face (???) and hope we get rain, just up your way, like for the drought. We'll work on sanding down the new pinns.

yeah, i'm all about the drive up crag. Can we bulldoze a road into pinns somehow???

Girl after my own heart.  I thought I was the only one all about the details.

Well done.

I'm not sure that Tricia is exactly a "horse face," she's just growing so fast she is eating like one:

And you really should go with them. I think I know where they're talking about and the views alone make it well worth the hike.

If you have to be sold you don't want to go bad enough. It has everything you could ask for.

Enameled is just him goading me.

Sorry brad, you kind of pitched that one to me! Def not a horse face. Looks like you're going to have to fend off the horses from her pretty soon!!

No sorry needed. Sometimes I assume that everyone who posts on the site knows everyone else well (we should you know). I'm not even sure you knew who "Tricia" was when I first posted.

It's snowing here now.  ;D

Eight climbs at 5.4 to 5.8, Trad rack needed on 3 of these. Three 5.9 to 5.10. Drys faster than most. No ticks yet. Lots of goading. >:D

And, come to think of it, she hikes like one too - fast as a horse and goes all day (with a load). Her specialty is blowing past whole Boy Scout Troops at a time...

You guys are making me think I oughta get off my butt and come down; now I know where you're going for sure.

Gonna get Beanolar to place her first bolt on lead?

Sorry, I bailed. Capt husband gave his forecast interpretation like this: "remember that time we were in Moab [where I kept waffling on climbs because of looming storms] - it's going to be like that"

Now it's sunny in SC this morning and i'm wondering if i should have just gone for it!

Yeah, beautiful day today. Alacia and I considered going climbing... But I think we'll settle for a long hike in the park today, and check out the wildflowers.

Clink, we'll have to check out a couple lines we were inspecting up there (if I assume correctly about where you're heading). Give me a shout if you'd like to give some bolting time to that 5.10 or 5.11 start.

Had a fun day with munge, clink and KC. They all got some leads in and I did a solo with munge.
Lightning, thunder and hail to end the day - hail bouncing down the water chutes is cool :)
Maybe munge will post some pics or video...

Wow, I just erased a lengthy post on yesterday. It was a good day! Next time Beanolar.

Gavin, we looked at that chute and face again while dodging hail bouts right before deciding to head out. Remember that steep wild looking face, with all the holes, that juts out on the top left of the formation? Not very stanceable (calling Mud, Gavin and kyqueener).

KC did a nice job of being a sidewinder and inchworming was mellow and enjoyable with a #4 & 5, reminds me of Entrance.

Finished with perfect avocado, beans, rice, sumptuous chile verde, corona with lime. SuperT time!

Ok. No more fungal masses attached to hillsides.

Have you been over to them?  Couple of nice possibilities. North facing escape routes from the sun.
