There has been a buzz going on around that got me excited. Anyone else planning to watch it?
-
First I gotta see if we have Discovery Channel (we watch a few hours of TV a year, and neither Vicki or I knows if we have it).
If we've got it, then yes, I'm gonna watch it for sure!
-
I'll watch it. My live blogging will cost you extra tho.

Well, I know for a fact that we don't have ANY TV channel.

What year was it that did you finally trade in your horse for a car?

We will watching
We will be as well, and drinking your beer while at it. ;D (Thanks F4!)
Have fun in Monterey!

What??? It says 8 eastern/7 central, but it's not starting here until 8pm! I'm confused. But guess we'll go get our dinner first.
Btw, China has only one time zone. There is no confusion like this.
-
DVR is saving the show right now. Will watch later in the week.
-
Does DVR leave out commercials? I forgot how bad they are!
-
We don't have Discovery Channel. I need to buy the DVD.
-
Maybe.
Damn, where was Mr Mud during the stones monkeys time?
Pinnacles!!!
-
You need cable or dish.
-
Brad - we can keep it on the DVR and you can watch it the next time you visit. You can fast forward through the commercials.
-
Saw the showing on Discovery. Would still like to watch the DVD or streaming someday because I read that Discovery Channel edited out some substantial amount of material in order to fit the commercial breaks.
I think the movie focused way too much on conflicts. I agree that they were/are all real, but I think too much attention was given to conflicts in order to sell to the general public.
I also think too much attention was given to Potter (esp. for none-climbing content), and none to Croft. Can't help but think that the decision was personal. After all, the movie was made by humans.

There are a bunch of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tier climbers that they do not mention that collectively are called the Stone Chunkies.
-
I agree with mudworm. Do not see how they leave out Croft. I see the soloist mantle go Bachar, Croft, Caldwell, Honnold. Bachar and Croft kind of kicked off the speed climbing era with the Nose and Half Dome in a day. Crofts' two full El Cap routes in a day stood for a while. Potter was big but in my mind over shadowed by both Croft and Caldwell.
-
Caldwell a soloist?
Crofts solos of Astroman and Rostrom were gigantic!
Hans!!!!

Croft...Mr Snappy dresser.
1 time he is telling us (@ REI) the benefits of the Boreal Bamba shoes....right on que Jake says "like free climbing the nose?"
All Peter could do was grin....
Several years later..I'm at Pacific Edge, getting a drink of water in between climbs. I look up and there's Peter!
He says to me "you look familiar". I say, "you to, how have you been?".

That was Geoff Norris. Many people mistake Geoff as Perter. You must have been taken in by his white pants.

Petered

Oh no it was Croft. His has that crooked front tooth. It was a Boreal demo night.
Nice guy.

Michael Reardon was abducted by the aliens that Croft had eluded. Rogue wave my ass.
