Crux Luv and I headed out this morning for the High Peaks. We were planning to do the Tunnel Traverse and Abuela. Plans changed slightly. I led Miss Piggy and then Abuela. Headed back down for the Tunnel route but sun was right in our face. Decided to hike down and check out the Flumes. Crux led Tilting Terrace and Cool Daze. We both got in a new lead and got to follow routes we had already led. Great day for us both!

Indeed!
And met an anti-social rattle snake.

Good thing Kyle was not there.

I thought the same thing.
Big baby.

His instincts of disliking snakes might be a good and natural thing.
In the beginning, didn't the trouble start with a woman getting s'naked, at least by one report.
May have been earlier though, when some knucklehead had to open his mouth and complain he didn't have it good enough. Either way I think it had a lot more to do with snakes than apples.
We did find JC and Nelkins wandering in the wilderness today. Pinns is heating up.

I thought everyone was in agreement that all the trouble started when the let a woman into the garden. ; )
She just could not be happy enough with the petunias ::)
Next thing ya know, we got clink....

Please pardon the thread drift...
I now know where they got the name for Maniac's Delight.
It still isn't as maniacal as Northern Lights - but that is a much newer climb and maybe Maniac's provided some inspiration? :)
It was 97 at 3:30 yesterday - I did get a bit flustered working on the summit about that time.

Phew! I told Kathy on the hike out Saturday that I fear Pinnacles is closed for me for a while.
Except for maybe early morning blitzes. Not sure I could stay away entirely. Feels like I'm just getting started!
