Hey All -
Just FYI that I found a yellow jacket nest while climbing at Discovery Wall a couple days ago. It is about two thirds of the way up Here Comes The Judge, in a hand jam pocket along the corner. I "found" it when I reached into the pocket and got stung, then quickly moved left as a dozen hornets angrily buzzed out to protect the site.
I climbed Broken Arrow Direct before that, and Verdict after, and the yellow jackets seemed pretty focused at Here Comes The Judge and disinterested in activity away from the site. However, it looked like they may be just starting to establish the nest, so be warned if you're thinking of climbing in the area, especially if you're allergic to bees/wasps.

Bad scenario.

Thanks for the heads up Gavin.
I won't be getting on that particular route but
I have been wanting to do Silhouette Arete for quite some time and there is also a hive/nest there.
I've also noticed an active nest/hive on The Hatchet.
I decided to get stealthy with my latest rope choice - my new Maxim Pinnacle Yellowjacket will be here this week :)

I like that rope. Only problem is it is not orange.

I knew that was coming! They make a desert sun pattern that's mostly orange with some yellow in the Glider model. I have a red and black Glider that I like - although Aaron will tell you his Glider didn't wear well. I didn't really want another rope with black in it - but I wanted to try the Pinnacle model and see how it handles and holds up. This is the only color in that model that is bi-pattern. :)
