Nothing gets done at work the last friday before Christmas.
They EXPECT you to call in sick.
So who's going to play hookey at pinns tomorrow??????
Before the rain hits ..
Need some crud before heading out to the swampy flatlands for the holidays...

J.C. and I are doing just that. It looks like my older daughter Katie is joining us too. You could join us - I think our climbing plans are fairly modest.
BTW, I'm not "playing hooky," I'm taking the day off. My boss may be a total jerk, but he does let me take off any day I want to without having to make any excuses of any type.
-
Mud Life, dig it.
So tempted. Unfortunately I do not think I can make it.

Bastard!

Sssshhhh!!! You never know where he may be lurking!!
-

We haven't arranged that yet. I'm gonna be on the road for a while, could you coordinate with J.C. by phone?

Oh yes, help me with him for sure. But I'd suggest that a better way to help would be to go to his house and split kindling for him. Or stack his firewood. His car could be carefully washed inside and out.
Hope to see you tomorrow.

I was probably going to go run the park tomorrow. I'm definitely open to meet up around lunch/snack time. If you see someone running around with a pack and lime green shirt make your best condor call and I'll respond with a falcon screech.

Ca-cawwwwwwwww
Sounds good
So brad, I should Leave the fish at home? It's a great prank. Stinks for months! Have a safe drive!
-
Oh yes, leave the fish (Katie and I just packed some for lunch anyway).
Thomas, we're going to the southern High Peaks from the West Side. Look for orange tee shirts, two old men and at least one beautiful blond.
-
two old men
Listen for creaking, hemming and hawing.
-
BTW, JC is so completely full of sheep when he says "I don't climb steep stuff". I caught him cruising up some, orange shirt and all.
-
Listen for creaking, hemming and hawing.
And for laughter, wonderful voices, and extremely intelligent conversation.

KC must be going along with Katie.

Wish I was with them but I'm stuck at work today :(
-
Had fun with Brad, Katie and beanolar yesterday - climbed at new area and a few High Peaks routes.
KC went back down with us today to do PSAR training while B, K and I worked on maps and confirmed a new route.
Rain moved in around 1:00 and chased us out. B&K on the road early, KC down with a fever - oops!
Lichen was super slimy but clean routes may be okay tomorrow if rain stops.
Doubt it will dry out much for tomorrow with low temps but you never know - clink says if the road is dry, the rock is dry.
Don't look for orange tomorrow...
-
Ya, thanks guys, that was a lot of fun yesterday!!!! Tuff dome at sunset brrrr but nice views!
-
Curious, what new route was confirmed?

It's called "For the Bambinos" (going from memory on the name for right now). It's the one I just emailed you about. I should have it up on the site tomorrow.
-
Yep, a really nice day in the sun yesterday. Today it was wet, but we got a lot done.
Katie and Laura on top of Photographer's Delight (these two really seemed to hit it off):

A really cold Tuff Dome summit in the sun's last rays:

I missed Tricia (but she had a school dance last night and, besides, it didn't seem like a good idea right now to take her out of school for another day!). But I'd also forgotten how much fun I can have with the Pipsqueak!
-
That is a good pic. Sounds like you guys covered a fair bit of ground.
-
Did the day include an ascent of Piglet Pinnacle?
-
And Thomas came by too. Thanks for making the effort to come over from the trail Thomas!
-

Alas no - but I did mention the day we met you and Squiddo and how we swapped climbing Piglet and Burgundy Dome that day - my first 5.8 and 5.7 :)
-
Looks like we missed a fun one in favor of beautifying the house for the family. Next time! (he says again...)

Ditto. Oh, well, I guess my daughter did this the night before...

No more climbing trips for 4-6 weeks I think.

Ow, ow, ow! And she probably didn't even do it mountain biking (all the great heros on this site break their bones mountain biking).
And what about your early season post: "Chances are this will be a short season for me, child #3 is due to arrive mid-December, and will herald the end of my climbing for the season (but not my climbing career)."
How's that going (or how did it go)?

She does ride, and she is bummed to miss the opening of the skills park in Morro Bay, but she'll have plenty of chances to get hurt on bikes over the next few years.
This was a cartwheel gone wrong. Healing will be quick, she won't even get a cast.
Child #3 is taking his sweet time. The due date came and went, no baby excitement to report. Pics will find their way around when things get exciting.
-
Tell her we all said heal up quick.
-
Sorry she was hurt. Let us know when you guys are ready to head out again.
-
Yikes, looks like she wins the bad day contest. But glad to hear everything's sounds like as good as it could be, within the circumstances.
