F4, The closest we have come to a political statement was to name a new route "Trump This" on the formation Dunce Cap.

There was talk of a route on Nit Wit Knob being named after Hillary(Not Sir Edmond).

I respect and appreciate your boredom and am afflicted with such maladies in kind. :)

Such a discussion is definitely not for sissies and if you're not careful, you're in trouble.
I long for the glory days when the world seemed to be getting better instead of devolving.
Back in the day before all this PC lunacy you could just shout - "Hey kid! Get off my lawn!!" with no backlash.

Already sick of rain but might as well get over it.
The sun is shining this morning and Pinns got over an inch of rain the last 24 hours.
Same goes for politics - I'm sick of that too and disgusted to boot - but as I said - might as well get over it.
You can't control what happens there any more than you can control the weather.
Of course conspiracy theorists will disagree.
I was just happy to have a successful field trip yesterday.
On the way up to UCSC, I watched untold gallons rushing down the streets and into the storm sewers - then straight to the ocean.
My students got to see a lot of water processes in action - something we don't normally see.
A few highlights at UCSC were seasonal stream flows, sheet flow on asphalt, a waterfall on the normal climb down into the main quarry and a disappearing stream in a sinkhole. By the time we got to the top of the hill that overlooks Santa Cruz and the marine terraces - the rain, wind and fog/mist completely obscured the views and negated any chance for our usual discussion to end that portion of the trip. I just started laughing and many of my students were swept up in the contagion.

Leaving the hill and heading to the beach, we were treated to a break in the storm and were able to map a couple dozen faults and see a bunch of cool stuff that made up for the "fiasco" at UCSC.
It turned out to be a really good day.

The normally dry waterfall was rockin' with all the runoff.

Have you climbed the Brosseau Finish? Jim was in on pitch 1 of The Inn Crowd but Brad and I did the upper alternate.
Believe me - that bolt is right where it needs to be and believe it or not I was standing up - just braced into the water chute. That thing is so sweet!  8)

I got a nice ride in this afternoon. Sunny, warm and breezy with water still flowing to the sea in spots.

Notice how all our discussion lately is in the Mud Puddle?
Quite appropriate.
I had to hold myself back from a solo trip to the mud today.
I'd definitely be headed down tomorrow if I didn't have to work - it's been almost 3 days without rain down there and a big dumper headed in for Friday.
Kat and I will head down one day this weekend - weather be damned.
Squeaked in a good, long uni ride without getting wet today.
Highlight of my ride was some impatient old dude that just had to get by me and in the process slammed into a big chuck hole that keeps getting cold patched and opening back up. Very satisfying.  >:D
Some people just don't seem to get the fact that I'm not on a bicycle.
As a matter of fact if you check the uniform traffic code, since my wheel is fixed - I am considered the same as a wheelchair/pedestrian. Most people are really nice but every once in a while...

You're the only old classic in that post.

Although, on the other hand, at least you do know how to post actual photos, instead of continually posting iiiieeiidddeee biiitttyyy little tiny useless blurbs that are supposed to pass for photos like non-orange classic boy does.
