Title: Climbing Saturday?
Post by: mungeclimber on March 03, 2017, 05:10:59 PM
Anyone going? Hit me up tonight on text, email, carrier pigeon or semaphore. Scratch that, my semaphore is non-existent.

Got some folks going, but a social gathering in the sun with three star classics are welcome.

There was a team on the Hand. I think it may have been Carpel Tunnel.

Resolution is lousy on this pic since we were about three quarters of a mile away as the crow flies.
I was just taking a pic of Crud and Mud and didn't even realize there was anyone on the Watchmen until we talked to squiddo later in the parking lot on our way out. There is definitely someone contemplating the crux on The White Walker.

Sorry, I ran out of steam on Lightroom's import/exports and uploading to load more.

Thx for the route name.  I think the gents were really looking for the best sun soaking opportunities. Pioneer Pinnacle had plenty.

We did Squatters Rights, Fledgling and Prairie Falcon.  Prairie was good, but still needs some cleaning of questionable knobs that look enticing. Cha Sam looked very unappealing. Started to set it up to run a TR and looked at the crux and bailed on looks alone.  Imprint looked great, but steep for the shoulder yesterday.

After that we hiked up to Crud and Mud. Just as I was starting to climb and talking out loud to Mrs. Munge about "The rock quality right here is really good." .... Popped a foot at the start of Mud Diamond and brought my weight down on my elbow on a knob. Tried to wait it out, but still hurting today. That was the end of the day right there.

Here's John then... is this White Walker?

Those routes are definitely good for sun.

If those knobs on Prairie looked enticing but dirty we didn't use them. We cleaned off the key holds only.

I tried to discourage them from doing Cha-Sam - that is a story for another trip out when we can hang.

Imprint is the best climb there imo and I thought you would dig the bouldery start to the first bolt. It was a fun day with clink - bolting that route and Fledgling.

Here's John then... is this White Walker?

That is The Knight's Watch.
It goes left at the summit block and White Walker goes right up the middle of the steepest part of that final face/headwall.
