Title: Poison oak solutions
Post by: F4? on April 09, 2018, 11:01:46 AM
How long have we had to live with it?
Can’t they make a spray that neutralizes the oils? Just spray all over before you leave for the trail.

Maybe trade joes coconut spray would work?

At least you would smell good.

Good, like 1970's car air freshener?  Had a friend when I was a kid who's mom was a stripper.  She drove a silver trans-am with the big blue bird on the hood.  Always used coconut air freshener.  Coconut scented makes me think strippers and trans-ams.

You should make a salad for M.O.M.

Gee Noal, I use a coconut airfresherner in my car due to my smelly biking gear..

Love the story....friends of the family used to run a housing program for homeless strippers. I have no recollections....

I saw some homeless people stripping when I lived in the Tenderloin.  I did not give them any singles.

I like the tree air freshener called new car scent.  Smells nothing like a new car.  It is an amusing concept because obviously my car is not new and printed on the tree it says "new car scent"

They do have a spray that minimizes the impact.

Right Mungie, it has to be the non stick apart that you spray your cooking pan with.
Oil can’t stick to an oil??

Who is 1st?

Btw Mungie. The oil would also work for ticks.

To me the best scene is the CPR scene...

Were it for strippers the spray would have glitter in it....sheesh you guy keep hijacking my thread.

If it had glitter it might get banned.

No glitter=sad day for strippers.

What's next clear plastic high heels?!

Unsurprisingly, that study found, a plastic-based diet was not great for the fish's long-term health and survival.

Quote is from the article Noal posted the link to. Made me laugh.

I had a break through...

They need to genetically alter deer to like eating Poison oak...That would control that evil stuff.

But every time you step in deer pellets, you'd get poison oak on your Tevas!

Even worse, the meat would give you a rash if consumed...Still I think it's genius.
Doubt if the Park Did-service would allow for genetically improved deer.

Then again, Goats could do the job 20x faster.
But we all know Sheep go to heaven and goats go to hell.

Mix a four leaf clover with Poison Oak and you get a rash of good luck.

Where exactly does this get applied? On your buttocks where your wallet pocket is for an increase of wealth? On your forehead to have an enlightened thought, or solve a problem that has had you stymied? What if your sex life has sucked recently?

Steep it in boiling water for 3 minutes.
Now add to a hot bath or if you prefer anaphylactic shock - just drink the tea.

Clip off a few leaves. Place 1/2 a leave inside bread, injest. Slowly repeat daily and increase to a leaf.

Simple.

Edit, searching the internet, it says JC is Screwed!!!! Some people react badly to the oil compound, others like Klink maybe not.

The article would not condone eating the leaves.

Do not do this.  If you do try and do this.  Start with much less than a couple of leaves.  Use a tiny part of one leaf.  Preferably use Poison Oak guard I think there is a link to it.  Smear it on before going out.  It works I have a large bottle in the garage.

Please, we don’t needs science or reality on this forum. Let’s just stick with good old what the internet says.....like stopping the rash with hot water.

The thought of Mr Mud slathering himself before going out....never mind.

Hot water doesn't "stop" the rash. It stops the urge to itch for awhile.

I have a PHD in Poison Oak, I pretty much grew up in it.

As a kid I used to get it bad, not JC bad (bright red ass), but damn bad each summer.  I used all the home concoctions, cold batch with corn starch, bleach, any and everything.

So as I was battling another annual round, for some reason I was on the phone talking to a advise nurse and she asked me a pointed question...."have you washed ALL of your cloths, bedded, and shit just about everything?"

Ugh, nope had never thought about it until that moment. What can I say, we were poor and in the hicks, and both parents were from the city-ish?

After that I stopped getting it from head to toe as I would wash everything.

JC better just stick with the routes on Discovery Wall, except February Fools....Or Klink has to always break trail.

For me that awhile was a month of itching plus two more weeks with less itching before the rash was completely gone.
That was with a cortisone shot and a 10 day prednisone step down regimen.

Anybody that breaks trail through PO when we are out for the day is in for a short day.
