Had a fun beach session with KC, beano, Kim-bear, briham, mt.reynier and a few others today. Hadn't been in the ocean in way too long. Swam outside the break, took a few rides on the boogie board and went through the washing machine once. Birthday cake for Kim-bear's 1st birthday and good times all around  :yesnod:

That honestly sounds better than the climbing we did in the (relative) heat and (not-relative) smoke. I got in six new routes, but I think being at the beach with your party might have been more enjoyable.
Not likely to go out tomorrow.

Sorry we missed it, Martha is still sick but was feeling a little better yesterday.

I didn't know you do the devolution thing. You are more barracuda than seal shaped but sharks like both. :)

Smoke blows.

There is life away from the Pinnacles.
Which, today, looked awesome with a nice marine layer in Salinas.
-
What were you doing in Sala town?
-
Driving home from Santa Barbara. We stopped in Santa Maria last night and then in Paso R to pick up my new ride.
Now home and back to reality.

Surprisingly there is after all these years - It was actually relatively cool there today topping out at only 95 at 3:30.
I still monitor even though I haven't been to the crud in quite some time now - should this go on the Historic thread?
Beach walking has become a regular thing - we just got back from an hour long stroll.
Very pleasant temps with just a slight breeze.
Kat and I rode to Harkins Slough yesterday on our bikes. We saw a friend of a friend who no longer climbs.
-
Oh and for the record, I got a bike with 2x wheels.
Such a joy.

Ocean fishing requires weights, 3/8s bolts/w.hanger work great! How is your inventory JC ?
-
Where did everyone go?
Is it Pinnacles season yet?
Don’t they have a senior discount at the park?

Still here.
Still triple digits.
Not there yet but feeling like it :out: :arf:

Smoky as heck up here. I am making the conscious decision not to ride my bike, since it cannot be healthy in these conditions.
-
no clue here as I am now the 1-armed guy for a few weeks.
Come down and ride here....
-
Aren't we supposed to be hugging trees, not breathing them?

but, all the good riding is up here
-
Maybe, but I can ride most of the year. Doesn’t it snow there?
-
we have been known to get puffy rain.

Kat and I rode our bicycles to Harkins Slough again over the weekend. We rode to the west access two weekends ago and the east access this past Sunday. I liked the west side better. The road stretches a bit farther out and it is more open and viewful. Both sides have their charm.
Back turned to the landward view toward the might San Andreas Fault and Loma Prieta

On uni cycles?

That would be quite an undertaking.
I would love it if Kat would get on the uni bandwagon but I don't think it is going to happen - even though I have a second big wheel she could ride - hint hint   :ihih: :frown2:
-
Ah, glad you ride with 2x wheels.

We just took a nice long walk on the beach and got treated to quite the show by breaching whales.
Nice temps, breezy, flat ocean and critters. :yesnod:   :arf:

Is breaching whale code for nonvegan?

Negatory.
We did see some beached whales too. :out: :prrr:

The surf has been very good....south swell on south swell lined up for 2 weeks.

Mungie don't surf.
Unless it's Kauai on little 2 ft rollers, that one time.
