Hey all, does anyone have experience with Pratt's Overhang Chimney? I gave it a shot yesterday and got to the squeeze but couldnt fit! I saw that if i traversed outward it would eventually open up a bit but that was a ways out there, and the underside of the squeeze seemed way to wide to stem accross.
Like a sissy, I downclimbed from there.
I've heard Pratt was barrel chested... did he really traverse out? And how?
talk about bold!!!

I should also mention, that I had it on good athority that the route was "...a chimney; hard to fall out of."
Traversing underneath the roof to get to the wider slot did seem easy to fall out of...

Hey, I thought you moved to Mariposa? Well, good to see that you're still a Mudder, at least part-time.
I free-soloed the route in 1991, with Vicki watching (and taking photos from deep inside). I don't recall any problems, it's just a squeeze chimney ;D

Hey Brad! Yeah I'm in Posa town. Had the day off with a friend who had never been to Pinns, so I emphasized that it would be worth a day trip... pretty weird to turn our backs on Yosemite and drive over Pacheco twice in a day!
Yeah, I just couldnt figure out how to enter the squeeze, I tried a few times but my chest got fully stuck. I'll try it again soon. I love chimneys.
Hope things are going well, I heard your boss is a jerk!

I looked at it long ago, but went down. I feared I'd take a Pratt-fall.
