Title: A Perfect Line
Post by: Brad Young on November 04, 2019, 08:56:19 PM
Waldo recently sent Vicki and me (and likely a bunch of you too) a link to a short story he'd written. The story would probably be about a dozen pages long if it were printed out.

I thought it was fantastic and told him so.

Apparently a bunch of judges agreed; he won second place in The Ghost Story Supernatural Fiction Awards.

The name of the story is "Tryst." It's centered on climbing; read it if you want details. Here's a link:

With Bob's permission, here's what in my opinion is the single most perfect line in the story:

"This will be the best move of my life, or my last.”

Wow!

Thanks for taking a look at "Tryst", all! I sent an early version to Roper twenty years ago. He turned it down, but liked this rewrite.

Very enjoyable.

Couldn't help notice Sierras in the writeup at the end
