Title: Free ain't free
Post by: JC w KC redux on December 20, 2019, 03:52:26 PM
Got a message from Flikr that their free accounts aren't cutting it.
If more sheeple don't subscribe to the Pro account option the ship will likely capsize.
There is no such thing as a free ride. You gotta pay to play.
Free is when you don't have to pay for nothing or do nothing.
We want to be free.
Free as the wind...

"Free" could be argued as the most successful business model of this decade (Google, Facebook). Although you must know that when it is "free", YOU are the product they are selling.

Smoke and mirrors.

They will definitely go broke.

Yes they will. I may sign up and pay.

That’s does cut into the beer budget.

If we decide to pay, it will cut in to my wine money ….

Count me out.  I'm not giving up airplane glue.

When I was 4 years old I lived near the border of Alabama and Georgia.  On Sunday evenings when I watched tv I could turn the VHF knob on the set (remember that?) Clunk, clunk, clunk...all three channels Hee Haw.  Never been the same since.

I understand Noal. Mr Mud used to say why pay for TV when it’s free!’
When where I grew up in the rural hills of Cupertino, we only got 2x channels.
So F-yes we were going to pay for the magical cable tv!!!! You would too unless you are Mr Mud.

Plus I need Flikr to post up my posing pictures!

Even though I already pay for SmugMug.

His live version of Dueling Banjos didn't just make my "Best of Country" playlist, it made my "Very, Very Best of Country" list and the (Footie-inspired) "Almost Cowboy Music" list.

And that "Very, Very Best" list is the one that also contains Johnny Cash and Sammie's Smith's versions of "Sunday Morning Coming Down."

Great music.

Too funny - I haven't heard you sing the song in a long time ...

How kind of you to call what I do "singing." You're a very good friend.

Thanks, its been just excellent so far.

Among other things, Jim emailed me greetings with two photos from our adventures together. I really like this one from an ice route up Starlight Peak in 2007:
