Title: Physical Distancing
Post by: Jim on April 09, 2020, 03:50:28 PM
April 1st

Keeping the distance (are we far enough away?)

At the top of P1

Great rock and fun moves.  2nd pitch ends on the horizon above the right trending crack/roof.  'Fool'n Round' 5.10a P1 115' 7 bolts, P2 85' 3 bolts and gear small to fingers.  So great to get out again after two months off for knee rehab.

That looks fun Jim.
I'd like to see that intrusion from further back (more distance please).
High reach drilling that first bolt makes my shoulder hurt.
Didn't know you were knee rehabbing but glad to hear and see you are doing okay.
Thanks for the distraction.

Jim, did you feel that earthquake just now? It shook here, but they say it was over on the Sierra east side?

USGS says 5.3 in Bodie.  On the "Did you Feel it Map" it shows some people in San Jose and Salinas felt it.  We didn't.

No fault specified but there are so many out there that it may be one that doesn't have a name yet.
Sometimes they identify the location and name the strands after a quake allows them to home in.
The Walker Lane is very complex.
Long Valley Caldera is over there too - the whole area is a geologists dream.
Expect aftershocks as things slowly settle back down   :yesnod:

Question is where is the gold?

Faults are a good place to look.
It's just not something I really dig.

Did not feel it.  Was doing the approach up to finish Fool’n Round.
Wendy felt it.

Brad why is your time stamp off by an hour?  Your posting has a time of 6:42 (don’t say it’s Apple’s fault;). The Bodie 5.2 was at 7:36 30km SE of Bodie depth 8.8km.  Pretty shallow.  Did you feel the 4.6 almost 2 hours later?

We completed the climb - update to follow...
