A pretty decent snow year and skiing was done for the season. 

We drove north and hiked up into an east side alpine valley with sort of a European feel to do a seven pitch sport climb, originally trad and unknowingly bolted a few years back by a couple of Mammoth locals.

Great photo of a happy Jim (unlike gyms - they aren't happy right now).

Summer's slowly creeping up on us (typed as the clouds blacken for a weekend of on and off again rain).

Great climb. Squiddo and I had a great time on that route. I would go back and climb it again.
Hope it’s cleaned up a bit. There were@ few stones  waiting to get knocked off.

I  have a fond memory of that trip, driving my new TDI wagon over Tioga Pass. OMG that car screamed up the
Ass. The turbo made the little 2.0 liter engine cruz up the pass.

This is almost alpine (just under 6,000 feet elevation). And since it isn't quite Pinnacles season yet....

First ascent of "Ra Ra," near Pinecrest Lake (5.10a **). The name derives from the traversing route we're working on down and left of this (out of sight in the photos). The way that route is climbed led to "Walk Like An Egyptian." The name for this route seemed natural, after waiting for the sun to warm it up for climbing (both photos by Shanna):

Looks like a beautiful fall day.   Maybe a next edition guidebook cover photo?
