^^^
Not seeing any photos in the post directly above this.
EDIT:
OK, you must of discarded that post. I do see the one of Johnny. I'm not seeing a photo in the one below, about Carrie (cool about more grandkids, by the way).
-
Working on it.
More madness than method I guess.
-
Well, you did something right at some point. Do it again.

Ali 2017 Tahoe.
Carrie is behind Ali, she and Thomas are expecting their first soon. I think her favorite day of climbing was at the pass when you coached her on a 5.9 crack.
-
Alright, there's another with a grandkid getting out of a swimming pool. No caption though, you should go back and add that.
-
Brad, what a chore! I had to start over with google photos.
I was saying that i'm like an old dog that suddenly started drawing carrots and squirrels.
-
Excellent. Now you're ready to start the PCT.
-
I am not seeing any photos!
-
I see the one with Izzy and that's it.
I resisted the urge to gobble loudly at some people I passed today (on the unicycle).

I don

BTW, i only post pics of people that are certified grandchildren here.

Now I can see your pictures..

Colton and Layton (when they were half the size they are now) and me. Exploring the corridors around Rituals and Magic with Aaron and Caleb.
After doing the start of R&M we took the first corridor on the left, traversed on a tree where it ends and meandered up passages and gullies. Ending up at the proper start to Feather Canyon, then down the Feather Canyon approach.
-
Cool pic. Got me to look at RandM and Meanderthal descriptions again. May need to make this area a priority.
-
Munge, both of those routes are worth the time.
Everyone, I was able to finally get the pics to post and hopefully stay put this time on the first few posts.

Preaching on a Sunday. Nice.
Looks like the Frozen Chicken finally thawed.
-
Santa Barbara bouldering is way fun. Did you get up to Pine Mtn?
-
No Pine Mountain, is it good? We ended up at those boulders because the road we were going to take was closed due the fire shutdown.
Thanks JC for dissecting the code. Johnny is more a fishing than a climbing at this point. Ali is a natural at climbing
I can't believe how much Johnny has changed in a few years. We caught a few sharks this last trip, he was like one of the crew. Meanwhile I would occasionally puke over the side.

Tahoe 2021
-
So after a frick'n too long of a hiatus we went to get climbing shoes for Ali and Johnny. Then to open air bouldering by one of the local homeless camps. It really starts with those climbing shoes. Like hooves to a mountain goat.
Anyway, easy but perfect, especially for me having 5 toenails removed finally after dealing with them turning into painful and gross claws starting in 1984. Rachel asked if I would please have 1 more removed so each of my daughter's could have one.

No surprise that it was that one who asked :) ;)
We (the mudn'Crud crew) miss seeing her now and then.

I will let her know. You would like the company of her boyfriend, Ethan.

Boulder problems!

To their mother's horror, my two show immense interest in every rock they meet. We could have a grandkid climbing circus if I can ever get mine over here from Croatia!

Waldo, I would definitely enjoy explaining to your grandchildren that you are a certain wizard and a few of the many ways you practice your craft.
Harley(above) is one years old and has yet to shown the gateway boulders by me, but I'm sure her parents have, as they go camping in the Sierra often.
Carrie and Thomas's boy arrived yesterday. A home birth that went well. No name yet. I suggested Mordecai, Mordec for short. I doubt they will go with my name idea, as they didn't with go with my advice of using the wonderful facilities at the local hospital either.
-
Clink, congratulations and blessings to all! The young people in our lives don't understand that we're old enough to have worries about everything, even Star-dryvins.
-
The devil child is just as goofy as ever.
-
Yes, I called my therapist and left a voicemail asking if demon possession could be passed genetically, but didn't get an answer because they had a sudden medical emergency and had to cancel all my future appointments.
-
Thanks Waldo and JC. We get to go see him tomorrow! Still no name. Rachel calls him Piggly and his parents Bubbs. Claire suggested that they name him soon before one of those sticks. He was born on Thomas's mom's birthday and is their first grandchild. They are overjoyed.
Knowing, Thomas, climbing holds will probably end up mounted to his crib.

Our Sherlock passed this week at around 17 years. He rests on a spot overlooking the meadow he romped on, where he caught bees until his tongue was so swollen it no longer fit in his mouth.
Twice, about 3 years apart, he snuck and sought out the most uptight of our neighbors and repeatedly crapped on their decks until quarantined. Somehow they still liked him. He was a clown, acrobat, and climber. He was found in a tree, which was hard to believe until I saw him at old school first bolt height a few times, in our trees. Crazy balance and speed, no fly buzzed more than a couple minutes in the house before being snapped out of existence.
The girls loved him and Rachel took care of him these last years as only someone who is fluent in "animal" can. Now he roams in the Great Beyond, most likely dry-humping resident cats, sacred sheep, cows and the legs of slow moving angels.

Jeezus Klink, you are a regular philosopher with them words to remember your buddy by.
We had many pets buried at my mom's old place. I'm sure the new owners have had a surprise or 3.

A nice hike near the Salinas River to the bay.
-
Yup, never enough time!
It's not the pet bones that I'm concerned about the future owners finding F4.
-
Those pictures make me long for home and I am not sure who is who anymore (except the Frozen Chicken).
I particularly like the one of Ally? in pink looking back.
I am having a hard enough time keeping the clan straight here.
You would have enjoyed a joke about climbing with sausage balls at the mini reunion yesterday.
Kat's cousin Bobby is a hoot.
I see all your grandkids are growing like weeds.

clink romantic walks on the beach......
You forgot knuckle dragging, driving slower than grandma and taking bubble baths  :yesnod: :ciappa:
From Noal's squid, biking, shrines, baths , death tunnels and culinary adventures post...
Baths are bliss for knuckle draggers and their grandknuckledrag'nkids.

Waldo, here is the ropegun training apparatus. It needs a coat of deck paint on the marine grade ply.

On a side note to the younger climbers at Pinns;
Recently there was a photo in which Brad was depicting bolt placements with hand gestures. This particular sign,(when used by one of the older climbers upon finding you doing an FA on a line they once may have had interest in) means "Place a glue-in".

Did you leave some flex in the holds to prepare them for pinns?
This particular sign,(when used by one of the older climbers upon finding you doing an FA is a line they once may have had interest in) means "Place a glue-in".
I frequently get signed this one in the parking lot. Does it have a context off the rock or should us young people always carry some epoxy on us?

If you pulled into the last parking spot available in the lots close to the trailheads on a busy day and one of the climbers who has replaced many calendars at years end happens to drive by, then yes. The context would not be in the 3/8 or 1/2 inch range but closer to something the size of a hammer handle. If it was me that was forced by such inconsideration to drive off to a remote parking spot and/or possibly have to wait for a shuttle, I would supply a liberal amount of epoxy for you.
The good old days when all the bolts were suspect and the suspects had multiple parking spaces to choose from. Morning shade, afternoon shade, or full sun on a cold day.

Wow, Clink plays the role of very proud and happy Grandpa a heck of a lot better than the role of old, curmudgeonly climber. He's very good at the second one, but the first one almost seems part of his very nature? Whodathought?
