Taco hour is gonna happen tomorrow (saturday) on the East Side weather permitting. Doing pork with daikon carrot cilantro. Will be some beers too. Bring a chair, have a taco and shoot the shit.
That guidebook guy BRAH might tell some dad jokes or correct your grammar. Orange guy and Tuff Chik should be there and me if you need any tips on how to get out of jury duty.

This is an awesome thing that you are doing.
Makes me smile inside.

Which particular hour is most likely of becoming the “TACO HOUR”?
Makes me rumble inside.

Damn those were good. I couldn't cook food like that if your life depended on it. Thank you for the climbing and for the effort to feed us afterward!

There. I fixed it for you.
From my expression in that picture it looks like someone just stomped on my foot.
Yep - that food was delicious. The climbing was fun too. Looks like the park got the rain amount that was predicted and I think most of it fell on us. A warm belly full of tasty grub, a little beer and some laughs more than made up for the minor bit of discomfort.

Thanks! There have been so many times we have come back to the West Side parking and there were people tailgating making tacos. It always looks good. Figured hey I could do that too.

Climber TACO HOUR is different than climber coffee being it has no specific starting time. It starts in the hour to 1/2 before sunset.
Realistically I cannot do this every weekend. If TACO HOUR is happening I will post on this thread. Others can post here too if they want to do TACO HOUR on the other side of the park etc.
Should be another TACO HOUR this weekend. Thinking about lamb with yogurt sauce.

TACO HOUR is awesome! Please let me know what we can bring to the next one! Looking forward to it!

OK, I couldn't make lamb with yogurt sauce if MY life depended on it. Definitely in.

Thanks for the explanation. I was afraid the HOUR was based on your and Mud's first ascent climbing schedule with OMELETTE HOUR being 4-5am and TACO HOUR 10:30-11:30pm. Good to know.

Don't think we ever ate any omelettes. Usually stop at the Hollister Starbucks and picked up a sandwich for the day. Best time was when the cashier asked Mud for his name and he said "to go" she said it's togo? Yes to go. When they called out the name for his order they pronounced it like the African nation TOGO. After that there was a period where I would call him TOGO. Dinner was usually of the liquid variety.

Never heard of Togo.
Pronounced Toe Go (for the phonetically or geographically challenged)
He shoulda said Puddin' Tame   :yesnod:

I did learn my lesson on this cuz she did call for my order TOGO and some other guy walked up, grabbed my order, and left.

We did eat pancakes at Denny's the first time we met up to work on Voyeur. This only happened because we both realized that neither of us had any bolts or hangers. Had to stop at Dennys and call John Cook to meet up on the Westside and bum some hardware. Some people bum smokes, some bum weed. We were bolt bums.
-
I think everyone that knows me realizes this kind of summarizes much of my life. I try and get better but never quite get there. Over the years I have shown up at the crag to climb and ended up not having just about anything you can imagine; shoes, harness, two left shoes, two right shoes, sleeping bag, rope, gear, you name it. Goes for every sport I have been into, show up to ride with no riding shoes, no wheel, kayaking and forgot my paddle. OH well, typically managed to have some kind of fun. Heck, I replaced a couple of bolts using a crowbar as a hammer, lol. The sound effect was worthy.

It seemed that no matter how late we came back to the parking lot, that you two’s car was still there. I wondered if you ever went home or climbed all night. Nice to get more of the details.
Bolt and taco dealers are all good in my book!
Mud, don’t forget your compass in everything else fails. Geoff Norris fits that description of your summary pretty well.

We need a "biting my tongue" emoji.

Then there was the period when we were using incognito vehicles. In those instances we were there but you would not know it.

That's where i draw the LINE

Only if it has an audible component.

TACO HOUR SATURDAY WEST SIDE

TACO HOUR SATURDAY WEST SIDE
I will be on the east side that day, do you deliver?
-
WE DO NOT DELIVER!!!
-
I will be on the east side that day, do you deliver?
No soup for you!
-
This is unfortunate. You plan these for days you know that I can't be there?
HAHAHAHA - like you could possibly know my schedule ;)
This weekend, if all goes as planned, Mr Dawson and I will get the book done to beyond route 700 (that's over halfway done). There's a possibility that we'll even finish the East Side completely (with the exception of one photo - of Wind Willow Rock). I'm not "counting chickens before they hatch," but plans look like they'll go as intended.
Would you consider re-locating TACO HOUR to Dawson's house in San Jose? Pretty, pretty please?
-
THERE IS NO PLAN
TACOS JUST BE HAPPENIN
-
The absolutely gorgeous Noal is Pinnacles very own Taco Belle.
-
THANKS HONEY
-
I hope you're not going to scream big red bloody murder all day tomorrow :o :frown2:
-
WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
-
Thanks for the grub dude - the sauce is boss!  :yesnod: :guitar: :blahblah:
Yosomighty rang us on the way home and he and Kurt evidently missed us by only a few minutes (left too early).
Kat and I met Dan on the trail after Noal left us all in the dust on the way down.
Dan joined us in the lot for the tasty treats.
-
Sorry I left you guys in the dust. Thought I might get to the lot in time to catch Caleb and Kurt.
Another good TACO HOUR. This time it was greek tacos. Lamb marinated in thyme, oregano, cumin, lemon zest, garlic and olive oil. Topped with cucumber tomato salad, pickled red onion, and mint yogurt sauce.
Here's how to make the yogurt sauce. So easy that even Brad could do it.
2 cups yogurt
1 bunch of mint finely chopped. (Dried mint is ok too)
I clove garlic grated
Juice of one lemon
Salt to taste
Tbsp of honey
-
Is Brad going to do Geico commercials?
Damn Noal! Now I’m drooling into my lonely margarita that would pair so well with your tacos!
-

No apology needed bro - I'm used to it - been happening for years. I used to bee bop long strides (like Brad) when I was young. (pun intended?)
Kat takes pity on me and slows down. I was fine with it anyway since we knew you would be fast at work fixing the long-anticipated tasty cuisine.
I remember one day years ago I was out with you and clink and on our way down it was just starting to get dark. I was stumbling with a headlamp and you two were just cruising along with no light like you were walking on perfectly level pavement.
Here's how to make the yogurt sauce. So easy that even Brad could do it.
Salt to taste
I think you meant to say Meanderthal but no matter - you lost either of them on that step anyway.
-
So easy that even Brad could do it.
Yeah, right. What planet are you on?
-
Did somebody mention tacos? i have Tecate.
-
TACO HOUR is Tecate friendly.
Hope to see you at the next one.

TACO HOUR SATURDAY EAST SIDE!!!
-
Bitchin’
!!!!
It looks like the guys that were so disappointed to miss you last time? They’ll be there.
-
Coulda eaten a few more.
-
TACO HOUR SATURDAY EAST SIDE!!!
Bummer we missed it - hope you guys had a good day!
-
Noal, is there any way that beer and Pop tarts could ever pair with each other? I'm asking for a friend of course.
-
Specifically this person had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Blueberry Frosted Poptarts for their meal.
-
It wasn’t Waldo.
-
Tacos at Dawsons tonight!
Damn good, probably 90% as good as Noal's. The ambience though was suburbia, not Pinnnacles. Nice people (some of the best). But Pinnacles is hands down a nicer location.
