When we were young and spry
My buddy Justin and I
Had Pinnacles epics galore
That left us sunburnt and sore
But now we're weak and gray
And I hope to relive our heyday
Trembling up Subterranean Tango
Without aggravating my lumbago
The campground is as tight as flying coach
And while my younger self says, "Dude, just poach!"
It's just not cool to be grabbed by your ears
By a pigtailed ranger half your years
All we need is a place to park
Our VW bus when it's getting dark
Who's got a spot for these two old dolts
To crash and dream of Ranger Bolts?
- Must be in striking distance of the park.
- Willing to pay.

I don't know why anyone would want to climb, or even camp, at Pinnacles when it's 90+ degrees. But if you must, there are a few large turnouts on the highway just outside the park. Never had a problem van camping there.

Oh sweet! That should work fine.
Why would I want to climb at Pinnacles in this heat? Because it's one of my favorite places on earth, and it's the first chance I've had to get back in 20 years.
Lunch and siesta in the Monolith cave should save us from the worst of it.
