Sorry, I couldn't resist. Sue me, I like my Mac. And it can even run Macromedia Studio 8 (including Dreamweaver), Adobe CS2, and lame Microsoft shit if you must.
Jake
I'm sure I'm about to regret this...

Yeah, down with BillGate'sCock, and up with Apple!
I'm just waiting for the new OS before I replace my POS HP computer with a new iMac... My PowerBook is still running strong after two years...
-
Ahh, a very nice thread indeed. Feel the love.
-
My iMac is in transit... It arrived in Anchorage 33 minutes ago. I sure wish those planes flew faster. :)
-
nothing but a bunch of slack jawed Apple lovers in this thread.
-
Hence the name, MSboy... ;)
Why won't it get here! >:(
-
I do like the new imac and rumor has that in a release of two macos will run zfs and that is just one more reason to get a mac.
-
Mac users = Freaks, especially Mr Mud and Landshark. You guys just can't handle change.
Mr. Mud is still grumbling that Unix is gone. Step up and take a WIN server class. Maybe Munge can even get you a I Love Windows tee shirt and hat!
Anyone hear about the $10 Iphone bill? I think IMacs will sell slowly becuase mac users will be broke from paying thier phone bills.

Sure beats spending 12 hours per day fixing your computer...
-
UNIX is dead? Dream on, I have been reading about the death of UNIX since I heard about it. Microcrap Windoze Server Admin - NEVER. Ok, so how much do they pay and do they have a treadwall?
-
At least you can fix a PC. Mac stuff is so over priced.
-
no treadwall.
but I hear vmwarez has le house de pain.

Sorry, I don't know about you; but my time is worth more than that... A computer should just work, period...

My biggest beef with Mac OS in general is IPhoto. Why do they have to make it so complicated? Instead of 1 file, you have 2x. Then to find the original, you have to hunt through your HD to find it.
With a PC, you can specify the file, dump the pictures in and you are good to go.
That said, if I would get over the IPhoto interface, I'd prolly get one me self because I kinda like the HW. Maybe the heat is getting to me.
Don't even getr me started on ITunes.
Does anyone notice that Mac programs are always buggy??
Somebody? Anybody?
Munge, you have a tread wall over there? Maybe Mr. Mud needs a visit or two.
-
You don't really need to use iPhoto... I don't normally use it. But maybe now I will since my hard drive is so much bigger now.
I can pick and choose where my files go just as easily on a Mac as I can on a PC. The main difference is that it doesn't have a c:\ at the beginning.
iTunes rocks, no doubt about it.
Buggy? Have you been using the stuff?
-
We use iPhoto at work to manage all the photos, and share them through our network. It's so easy to use, share, rate, and modify pics it's stupid!
I threw together a slideshow for one of our volunteers in literally 2 minutes.
What's your beef?
-
my beef is the Cowboy Ribeye at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
omg, butter..... arrggggggg [drool]
-
Damnit, you're making me hungry!
Get back to talking about Apples!
-
"What's your beef?"
I like to tweak my photos. Most, no, all of the underwater work I do needs to have the photos tweaked in P-Shop. I'd rather make a slide show of the end product. On a trip I'll shoot 50-100 shots per day for 5 days. It adds up.
Fueco hit it on the nail...don't use IPhoto.
Fueco- My itunes experience dates back to December of last year when I got a 30GB IPOD and had to uninstall the old Itunes & Quicktime viewer. Even then it didn't bring in from my archive the songs my bro had burned a copy of (from his CDs ;)). I had to go to the apple support threads to firgure out you had to uninstall Quick Viewer (WTF??).
Nope, Apple SW has just as many issues as PC SW,it just looks nicer.
-
Yeah, I can't help you with the iTunes problems, as it is the only music program I've ever used (I had it on my HP, so when I upgraded to the iMac I just had to transfer the files over). Before iTunes I only used CDs or MiniDiscs...
I've had a few problems with this computer so far, but all seem to be with programs that are not running native. It doesn't really like Photoshop (CS2), but it does work. And Illustrator works just fine... Ah well, the upgrade is only a couple of months away. :)

The main thing that I do not like about iphoto is that if you import files into iphoto then want to copy them onto some media the file are all hidden in some obscure name location. This can be overcome by coping the files into your own directory then imported from there.
My complaint with itunes is; when I tried to create an mp3 disk it limited me to the number of songs so I was unable to use the full size of a disk.
