Any ride that included Sonora Pass might actually become a death ride... But I will have to get up there some time this summer and ride from Dardanelles to 395 and back. That seems to be the craziest thing I could ever hope to do on my bike.  :)

The Death Ride was tons of fun; and not nearly as hard as I had anticipated. I'll be back next year...

I'm thinking Tuolumne Meadows to Lee Vining and then up Sonora Pass... That sounds fun for a longish ride.  :)

The 2008 Death Ride is now in the bag as well... I rode with Joan the whole time, and we ended up with a ride time 35 minutes faster than I did last year (10:00 vs. 10:35). Total time was 12:30. And the "highlight" was waiting out a hail storm at the top of Carson Pass, and then descending it in the rain...  :o

I road from just this side of Dardenelles out to Bridgeport and back years ago.  That was indeed a tough ride.  I rode with one water bottle and filled it up when I got the opportunity.  I would never think of trying that again.  I am not so sure that ignorance is bliss.  It can get a person through unimaginable times.

No pics... But once the ride pictures are online, I will screen capture some of them.

This was my last big organized ride before September. We'll see how that one turns out! At least then I should get a lot of pictures of me riding.  ;)
