Title: Valley... 9-29/30?
Post by: F'ueco on September 10, 2007, 10:13:16 AM
ANyone want to head up the weekend after next? It's the last weekend my current pass is good for, so I figured I would sneak another visit in there...

Perhaps some mellow roped stuff? I haven't lead anything for ages, so I would want to stick below 5.9.  ;) Plus, I'm a big chickenshit when it comes to these things. Must be all the bouldering...

swimmers/bikers can become good climbers. it's never too late. ;)

wish I could go, but i'm down for the next two weeks. after that I'll definitely be up for some valley cragging as the tourists will now be fewer and fewer.

It's always nice in the Valley. 'Cept when it's hot, humid, dusty, insect laden, and full of tourons.

My hardest bouldering sends in the Valley have been in January through March... Beautiful!

45 degree high temperatures are the best.  :)

You can't pick up dignity at the Winking Lantern. You can probably pick some other things up though.

Can't you guys read the sign? It's Friday and Saturday nights.

Fueco, why are you wanting to go to the valley? Seems like a lot of effort when you could just go to the Pinnacles.

Why is Evan so high? Doesn't he know that's dangerous?

Especially when there is a nice crack to his left.

Well, he did bail out to the crack...

The problem he is on is one of the scariest V3s I have ever tried. The crux is the next two moves.  :o

Sentinal....
The West Face.  Great route, almost fell out of that offwidth was on my way down when, thankfully, a stray chicken wing got caught up in the crack.

Does that include gym climbing? I had a killer session on Tuesday (w/o squiddo).

How are those banjo lessons coming along?

My advice to you....Dish Networks. You'll never have to leave your house.

I will probably get on the bike this week.

I can probably do a gym session I just cannot sustain any impacts.

Now is the time for Mud Worm to get back into the gym climbing?

You can still belay? Give you a grigri and you can belay at the gym all day long!
