When I can't climb vertically on the rock...
It was perfect day for riding. The loop goes for about 67 miles and 8000 feet. Next time, we'll try to start earlier and throw in Old La Honda.

Nice loop!
I only did 30 on Saturday... Sierra Road was the only climb. ;)
On a side note... I just asked for February 20 off so I can watch the Tour Of California coming over Mount Hamilton. Hopefully the weather cooperates so I can ride up and over the top early in the morning. :)

F'ueoc, are you doing the Webcor KOM?!
We just heard about it last Friday, and looked it up. That's when we read about Sierra Road. Sounds really really nasty. But it got me quite curious now. I'd like to experience it one day.

I'm happy to say I'm slowly caving into the thought of buying a roadbike. I may ask to join you all soon enough.

Well, I'm not sure what the Webcor KOM is, but I don't really race...
I may do the Devil's Mountain Double in April though... The last major climb on that one is Sierra (after climbing Mount Diablo and Mount Hamilton).
And if you have a triple, Sierra will be no problem. If not, it's pretty brutal (I have a compact double, which helps a bit).

Munge,
I know, I know. I've been saying that for years now and seeing that I only own 2 mountain bikes...sticking to it. With a kid in the future (TBD) a road bike for staying in shape will become more of a need than a want.

That is Webcore King of the Mountain Ride (http://www.sanjoseca.gov/kingofthemountain.html)
Interesting coincidence then. I saw your post first and didn't know what Sierra Road was about. Then I heard about KOM, and read all about Sierra Road. I have a triple, but I think I need a motor too.
Squiddo, if you'll consider a Specialized, don't skip GoRide (http://www.goridebicycles.com/Site/Home.html) in Redwood City while shopping around. They sometimes have some really good deals.
