I'm ready to drink some more coffe and then go do my workout (snowblowing and shoveling us out - until the snowplow "berms" us back in).

Yesterday was a great day for climbing at the Pinnalces.

Dig out soon Brad.

Looks easy? It's not. With this much snow, it's really physical, especially keeping the front of the blower down into the snow:

Vicki and Katie play cleanup, keeping me company and greatly reducing the workload:

The snow we're moving is just from the last 24 hours.

Brad,

What are you doing?  :o      I used to hate mowing the lawn.  Is this normal for where you live?

We get this much snow in at least one storm 2 of every 3 years. I've had my car buried up past is side view mirrors before. Overall we love it, especially on weekends. My girls were sledding down the driveway much of this last weekend. To the point where we had to turn on the outside lights so they could continue into the evening.

It's a different view than you see in the summer. All over. Most of you have driven up the Twain Harte Grade. Coming down it this morning it was a sheet of ice. Actually the road from our house to Highway 108 was thick, compacted snow. Highway 108 was ice, no pavement visible anywhere all the way to the base of the Grade. Second gear to the highway. Second and Third from there. The Subaru's a champ on this stuff. Vicki's Explorer has big beefy mud and snow tires which are studded. Studded tires are a great invention.

In High School the big fun was to get on a heavily iced over road and spin up those studded tires for all they were worth.  Then listen to the Studs start firing away against the inside of the wheel well.  Never managed to get more than one season out of those things.  Good thing Volkswagon tires were cheap.
