Got this message on a mailing list:
Please come at 6 p.m. Sunday, February 17, to a talk by three-time Tour de France champion Greg LeMond called "Ethics, Doping, and the Future of Cycling" .
LeMond will be joined on stage by San Francisco Chronicle sports columnist Gwen Knapp, an expert on cycling and doping. There will be an opportunity for audience questions.
The event will be held in the Leavey Center at SCU.
The event is free and open to the public; no tickets or advance reservations are required.
LeMond's appearance at SCU is co-sponsored by the SCU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports, the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, and the Commonwealth Club-Silicon Valley.
More information about the event can be found at:

So, if it's free, I can just go in and heckle him?
What a douche...
-
F'ueco...not a fan? I used to be but then less so. He certainly has an opinion on doping and (among others) Lance.
-
Lacking the culture background, I had to look up the word "douche", and I found this http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=douche . I thought the second explanation was kinda funny.
Anyway, now that I know what it means, F'ueco, why? Do you have some insider information? I can't say I like him because I don't know much about him. I think I got an autobiography from the library at one time, but I don't remember whether I read it or if I did, whether I finished it.

It was his whole attitude towards Lance. It seemed as if he was pissed to no longer be the all-time best American cyclist.
-
Oh, and Bush is not a douche.
-
Bush is a total Douche. I can add way more to that but will probably get in trouble.
-
I am personally glad to see that:
1.) Mudworm now understands the word Douche. Perhaps she can incorporate that word into some sentence and thank this forum for the knowledge.
2.) Bush isn't a Douche though he might be an ass. Tough one, I'll need to chew on that over the weekend. That coupled with several cheap canned beers, a stale hot dog, and the 12 gallons of leaded gasoline filling my 1987 V8 Chevy pick-up.
Oh yeah, I agree with F'ueco with respect to Lemond's opinion of Lance occurring after the glory days.

No, it just confuses me more. I still cannot grasp the implication of describing a person as a syringe, but I'll let it drop here.
Anyway, I don't think I'll go because it doesn't look like he is going to talk about HOW to ride. Throw it out here in case anyone is interested.

What do you mean? Lamond IS the all-time best American cyclist! He just got permanently side tracked from winning tours.
