If you're in the Eastside this weekend, Mammoth Mountaineering is running a 20% off everything sale. The carry Acopa too!!!! If not, then embrace the whole 'e-commerce' thing. Ask anyone, it's a total fad and we will be back to 'mail order' catalogs within a year. Remember those???
Free shipping but you got to pay the tax man:

Yes, my size is missing for Merlin's too. Then again, I've got enough shoes (as F4 knows). The JB's are nice....just got a pair for a steal.

Well don't bother checking out the SC Patagonia store...the selection sucked. Unless you are looking for capline.

If the weather is nice, it's crazy to go to Yosemite on a Memorial Day weekend.
If the weather is crappy, it's crazy to go to Yosemite at all!
-
Well, you could go to the lower canyon..We hiked 1/2 Done last year. The crowds weren't that bad.
So what about going to the Pinnacles on Memorial Day tomorrow?
Afraid of the crowds there too?
And for Munge......

I bet it's faster to ride a bike out of the valley than driving. At least, that was the case last time we were there. Stop 'n go all the way from the valley floor.
> So what about going to the Pinnacles on Memorial Day tomorrow?
Good luck with the drive back! Should be good weather there though.
We'll either be riding tomorrow, or Mud will be planting trees. Even nicer if both ;D
-

True, but the climbing will make up for it. Plus we can always go back via back roads.
Mr Mud is getting weak!
-
If you feeling stronger than I your welcome to join the next casual ride.
-
F4, I agree with you. Mud is getting weak. He even stopped to look at flowers on the side of the trails on today's ride!
-
Yesterday was perfect. We hit denied and then a couple 2 bit routes over at the Frog.
There were hardly and folks climbing and few cars on the road.
I'll have to dust off the old mtn bike one of these days.
-
What did you think of Denied?
-
Great route. The crux is a bit loose and less 1 hold (not that nice knob). I had trouble until I saw a nice incut hold.
The route is a bit dirty, but that's expected since folks don't do it much.
Lowering the top anchors and putting chains on them would be a nice addition.
Get a Grip and 10% inspiration were awsome. And in the shade which was nice. Beyer's bolts are pretty nasty. The ones on Atlas Shrugs had to be the worst ever.
-
We put the chains in that location to try and make them not visible from the trail. Painted chains might be a good solution.
-
Denied was a personal favorite.....a nice route indeed and being so close to the road, a must repeat. Joe, F4 and I were thinking out loud about what a nice sport route it would make if there were chains at the base of the final chimney mung. Just enough to lower with a single 60M.
:-)
Fun stuff.
-
I think folks should just start using 70M ropes.
-
That's the plan. But wait....that would mean YOU'D need to buy one too!!!
