Title: Exchange question
Post by: mungeclimber on July 29, 2008, 04:31:18 PM
Are ALL emails routed internally on Exchange when using a corporate global addressbook rather than external address? i.e. do they never leave the network?  Haven't ever administerd Exchange, so have no idea.

just curious, thx

If only an email with from the Global Address book is used then it will be routed internally.  This is assuming that your Exchange Server is located in your internal network and not outsourced and located at some other site ( yes this does happen ).

If a second address is added that is an external address then the email is routed externally.
