OK, well then here are my two tips:
1. Get a different belayer. That guy looks like he is about to fall down.
2. Climb the intended route and stay out of the moss.
Meow!
-
Sage advise. Wet sage, but sage none the less.
;D
-
Ubber was fine because that bush/tree was in fall line below would have absobed the fall.
Yah, that belayer looks a bit soggy.
-
sheesh...the rock looks alive!
-
moss kills

moss kills
So does Crack!
-
There is no way he would hit the ground from that height.
Hand that man a beer.
-
Agreed, he wouldn't hit the ground but he might set you up for a fly set of new front teeth.
-
Isn't that the second quickdraw by his right foot? If so, he wouldn't fall more than 6 feet max. And I guess that means he's on route... Plastic boots and crampons might be a good idea- that could open up whole faces previously thought unclimbable! I'm going to sharpen them right now!
-
I can't see the bolt next to his foot.
-
If there's a bolt at his foot, then I've lost all respect for Ubber. You'd think the Old E would have given him the huevos to get past his last bolt, way past. Jim would have soloed it, I mean placed a bolt way high up.
-
there is no bolt at his foot. at that point, the bolt you see half way down was the only bolt.
-
Then he was hozed!
-
AH! As I thought. Landshark, DIE
-
If only Jeff would have fallen from there. It would have made this a groundbreaking ascent.
-
HA! That's funny.....someone would have lost some teeth though.
-
What was even better was that shortly after the pic was taken, the drunken belayer was goofing off and tripped, almost pulling me off. I gave him a flying "hug" after I put in the second bolt and came down - to show my appreciation for his attentiveness.
-
You guys be trippin'. Check it out:

Whatever Landshark circled, it's not a bolt. Clint and I did the second (??) and certainly last ever ascent of this route (ATDS). The second of two bolts is to Jeff's right, and above the height of his head (that is, in the photo, the bolt hadn't been placed yet).

A. Too funny that someone would actually repeat the route.
B. Maybe the moss grew back over the bolt.
C. I be Jeff wished there was a bolt at his feet at that point.

Landshark...you are tripping. Are you one of those people that see Jesus in your cinnamon toast, too? There is no bolt.
You were not there, so DIE
-
HA, nicely done Landshark. Uber, hilarious....I saw Jesus this morning.
-
Squiddo, did you see my brother this morning? I keep telling him to cut his hair and shave.
-
I think Ubber can't remember,
-
HA HA HA, no. I was speculating.
-
I think Ubber can't remember,
Who the fuck is "Ubber"? Or are you having problems pronouncing words again (e.g. "arete")?
-
"Ubber"
You! You haven't been climbing much lately, so you're looking a bit chunky.
-
Just don't piss him off. The last time I saw him his arms were the size of my legs.

So he has small arms? >:D

You wouldn't know since you haven't seen me in a while...
Although I admit to having a little extra training weight these days, I've been fairly productive pounding in bolts in recent weeks on some stellar lines. Already started the daily workout routine in my torture chamber (aka garage). Once I get past my two-week jaunt overseas (where I probably will barely eat for the first 5 days while I'm in India), expect either more bolt slamming or drunken aid climbing in the rain. I'll be fit as a fiddle for mid-to-late season Pinns climbing.
