Was going to go out for a 15 mile (one way) ride connecting a bunch of trails together near Bear Valley.
Dropped off at the trail head

Then about 120 yards into the ride and

Still a 9 mile ride back to Bear- The bleeding stopped so I decided to ride the trails back and not take the easy way out by riding the Highway. Teeth went all the way through lower lip. Still had a couple of hours to kill before my brother could sew me up so I put in a new easy route.
Wooden Socks 5.7 4x + gear ground up roped solo

Six stitches and a week later and lip is better.

Sheesh, what happened, Uncle Stinky? Were you fumbling with your camera while riding? That's my guess because that's what happened to Mud on our road trip -- 0.5 miles into the ride, he crashed into a tree leaving him a sore and stiff neck for the entire trip. Oh, with a bleeding lip like that, you named your new route Wooden Socks? I would have gone with something like "My Lip Needs Stitches" if it had been me.

Burly, put your teeth trough you lip then rope sole a route.
