Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is fun. I'm keeping another list of "discovered/possible" routes that haven't been checked out yet to see if they're real. No reason to not post these too. As they get "checked out" they can be changed to the "found routes" list. or confirmed to be random bolts or anchors which aren't a route. (I'm keeping yet another list beyond this, of "projects," ongoing stuff which is definitely known to be unfinished, but that list contains too much confidential information.)
Here it is:
PINNACLES “FOUND” ROUTES; ARE THEY ROUTES?
Listed according to which routes each is “between,” using route names and numbers from the 2007 guidebook. Known details are noted.
EAST SIDE
Before Pickpocket (route #1): On east facing rock 30 feet west of paved road, 150 yards before turnoff to Condor Gulch “sub-parking” area (formation is on the right when coming in to the Monument). Two bolts visible from ground, no others visible. Walk to top. Two sets of bolts on top. Possible “rappel practice area,” with two practice bolts too?
HIGH PEAKS
WEST SIDE
After Thundering Herd (route #769) and before Tugboat (route #770):
Large, mossy, east facing slab, north of Thundering Herd, 100 yards south of Balconies Cliff trail/Caves trail junction. Third class up and right to ledge with old, bad bolt 15 feet off ground. One bad looking bolt visible, sticking out of moss 15 feet higher. Route or abandoned?
