Which routes on are the east face, technically?
was curious whether the closure listings were mapped to the new guidebook organization and naming conventions.
-
Depends on which list you're looking at. Gavin (who runs the closures for the Monument) has used the names from the new book and also the map from the new book. Are you looking at the FoP listing?
-
Munge, you are SOL. Just go to the East Side and run laps on Wet Kiss & Cleft.
Give Gavin an e-mail to see how the birds are nesting. I'd say more likely than not, they are there.

must be FoP, but not sure it was late last night and I came to it thru a link and just saw the list. didn't pay attention to the URL at the time.
-
East face is the routes, Desperato and those to the right.
I will get this list posted up as a sticky this evening sometime.

kewl, thx admin guy

Without reading anything I do know the following for sure:
Bill's Bad over to Son of Dawn for sure because there are a couple nests on the upper headwall.
A pair was nested around there last year...prolly there again.
They are good about re-opening stuff if the birds don't hand out.

We talked to the "Nesting" guy(forgot his name) Saturday on the East Side, and he said that the entire lower half of Machete is open, including the first pitch of Son of Dawn Wall. Everything above there and above Bad Man Mezzanine is closed. Machete Direct and Cuidado are open. As far as other specific routes, I couldn't tell you.
I mentioned the FOP website being confusing and he agreed. Does anyone know anybody at FOP so we can help them fix that web site and make it more precise and up to date? Maybe we could build a feed that could be displayed on this site, the NPS site, FOP and others?

I will basically copy the NPS closure data onto this site. I do not figure they will mind if it helps to spread the word. Just got a bit busy last week.
