What is your go to hook for bolting? Maybe the one you have used the most, or the one that always seems to grab at just the right time before you fall and meet the "Barnacle Party"? The Talon Hook seems to yield the most placements for me.

My favorite hook is Redhook IPA:-) That bottle gets me out of many a pinch!
-
Never been much for the IPA's
The pre-sewn Petz hook. I thought the whole pre-sewn thing was dorky but there is something about that hook.
-
lots like the BD cliffhanger no? I remember buying that hook as a wee which makes it 26 years old!
-
Very similar to a cliffhanger. There are subtle differences.

Leeper Flathead....my trusted hook it`s never failed.
I still need to find my pre-sewn Petzel skyhook...might need larry to re-sew the webbing.
Now for the bottled Hook I`ve been drawn to the LongHammer IPA. It`s light, yet hits the spot after a day climbing. And Safeway always seems to have it on sale.

Cliffhanger all the way, because if it sticks on the type of edge I usually reserver for it. Then it's likely bomber.
note the cliffhanger at the bottom even though I'm leaning/hanging on a grappler in this instance...

Munge- nice job incorporating the drill into your safety protocol! I like to tie my bit off once the hole is deep enough with a thin dyneema simply girthed, it doesn't grab the bit and lets it rotate freely while giving me that "mental Security" at the same time!

every time I girth it to the bit, it wraps around it with the twists. biners tend not to.
-
small cam hook
followed by a right hook
-
Good one there Uber.
Note: I used the bit as a backup once and it did not hold. I ended up yelling Drill! Drill! Drill! at my belayer. Thankfully it missed him.
-
did the hole blow out? pre-hole being deep enough to use as back up?
-
I'm going with the Copperhook in the bottle...

Hole was deep. Drill bits are brittle.
