Love Line on The Hand
« on: May 21, 2012, 07:28:43 PM »
Climbed Love Line last Saturday. Great route - steep, exposed, and solid rock for a change.  Should have read the route description more carefully on Brad's guidebook. Bring long slings for the second pitch...
This one ranks up alongside Royal Flush as my favorite Pinns route.
Congrats to the FA party!

PS: Josh - put this on the list for the next visit.

"solid rock" on Loveline?  are you sure you were on the right route?
or maybe all the softballs have been tossed and it's a different climb now...

I was thinking the same thing as Joe. I just did it again a few months ago and it was definitely had much more loose rock then when I did the 2nd ascent.

Do Pinnacles routes get looser with time?

You guys got me thinking so I checked it out again on Brad's guidebook ... Route n. 328: straight up on the first pitch and cool traverse left on the second pitch. A couple of very well hidden bolts. I have a blurry picture to prove my ascent but don't know yet how to post it. Rock quality: solid to very solid... Perhaps my expectations are too low?  I grew up climbing in the Dolomites  ;)

I met Kelly Rich at Pac Edge tonight and made sure to give him your regards.   ;)

Looking forward to trying that route someday.

For the record, that wasn't me.  In fact, I signed Brooke's book for David (cuz he wouldn't sign Brad's book) while she wasn't looking.   >:D

Although I have to admit feeling a bit like a groupie introducing myself.   :-\

What ev.   ;D
