Rebolting ideas
« on: June 30, 2014, 04:07:38 PM »
Yo gang,

I have some time to do some rebolting ( solo ) and want some ideas.
I ran thru the other thread for ideas but nothing grabbed my attention, or seemed reasonable for me, myself, and I

Getting to the top easily is mandatory.

Either side of the park works.

Has Resurection wall, both variations been rebolted? Isn't it open soon?

Actually, that's a brilliant suggestion. It would be nice and cool there too. Adam and I did some work on it, including a top anchor (to replace a now-dead manzanita). Adam rapped from that and would know how easy it is to get to old bolts while doing so.

Get Adam to go along and help get the new replaced bolts positioned to where you can actually clip them.

If you go up to Resurrection, take a look at the last section of the main chute that hasn't been climbed. At least not that I know of. And no disrespect to Rupert for calling the top of the original route a "variation"

and you would have to go climbing for that to happen.  ;)

Josh,
I know of a few things that need attention, but they will probably require a partner. I'd like to get out there this summer but I'm too busy right now prepping a new course. I have to get that done before I can consider any days off. The one thing I would like to get to that can be done solo is the Tunnel Traverse - needs 8 bolts replaced. you can scramble up the back and rap down. There is some PO around the bridge below but should be easy to avoid as long as you don't throw a rope out - just let it snake down the face. I'll get to it eventually if you're not interested. If those bolts are replaced the wall will have three good climbs - the rebolt will take care of the Traverse and Trainspotting.
